**Job Summary**
TheOffice of Student Affairswith the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine ( SFESOM ) works closely with medical students to ensure they feel supported and successful during their time at the SFESOM by facilitating the personal and professional development of the students through accessibility, professionalism, collaboration, and inclusivity.
The Student Scholarships & Grants Manager manages, develops, and maintains grants and contracts pertaining to student scholarships. Develops and implements policies, programs and financial objectives for assigned departments in relation to grants and contract functions. Attends the SFESOM scholarship committee, and leads the annual student scholarship review process. Supports the Student Financial Aid Manager by advising and assisting with financial planning when needed. Ensures compliance with federal and state statutes, regulations and procedures. Contributes to the completion of recurring projects, and provide additional support during busy seasons.

**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare reports, conduct analyses, and manage the administration of research grants and scholarships. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure compliance and effective fund distribution. Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
+ Coordinate with the Student Financial Aid Manager to ensure timely and accurate reports including the LCME Financial Aid report and tuition calculations.
+ Administer pre-award and post-award processes for grants and reporting student awards through scholarship system (e.g., Scholarship Admin).
+ Assist faculty and staff in securing grants and contracts and coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Projects.
+ Ensure compliance and serve as a subject matter expert on scholarships and grants with federal, state, and university policies.
+ Audit and reconcile financial information related to scholarships and grants; resolve discrepancies.
+ Collaborate with University Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid to ensure the timely availability of scholarships funding, year-round.
+ Monitor scholarship funds, ensure proper disbursement, and reviews and updates donor records and agreements.
+ Attends monthly scholarship committee meeting and provides back-up support toFinancial Aid Administrator during the meeting.
+ Supports the review process for scholarship applications to evaluate and award students.
+ Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions on scholarship topics, referring toUniversity Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid as needed.
+ Plan and coordinate workshops for students on scholarship matters.
+ Collaborate with Student Affairs and Admissions on scholarships communications.
+ Maintain and update scholarship management systems (e.g., Academic Works).
+ Act as a liaison between various departments to enhance scholarship programs.
+ Cross-train under Student Financial Aid Manager to learn financial aid processes and serve as back-up on financial advising.
+ Participate in university committees to establish service standards.
+ Support major Student Affairs events, committees, and other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
