**POSITION SUMMARY:**
The Supplier Management Engineering Manager manages a team of engineers responsible for all technical interactions with Hach’s global supply base. This includes component ownership across the lifecycle from new product component development to obsolescence and supply chain risk mitigation. The Manager will be responsible for component manufacturability, supplier quality, supplier delivery, and supply chain risk (as they relate to component manufacturability and technical capability) and impact these outcomes by driving the team to execute component, material, or supplier change projects. The team will also execute the supplier technical projects required by other departments such as VAVE, Procurement, and Quality to achieve the strategic goals of the business related to quality, cost, delivery, and risk.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Leadership
+ Manages a global team of engineers and technicians. Directs daily work, sets performance goals, creates robust development plans. Guides the team on technical, career, and soft skills.
+ Partners with groups across the organization as needed to establish process and standard work. Implements consistent standard work to the global teams.
+ Establishes metrics for team performance with improvement goals over time.
+ Prioritizes work to maintain product quality and manufacturing uptime while balancing progress on strategic initiatives.
Supplier Issue Resolution and Improvement
+ Takes immediate lead on line down issues resulting from supplier technical issues, organizes the team and cross functions to rapidly drive to root cause resolution.
+ Establishes leading metrics with improvement targets that proactively reduce line downs, improve component quality, and mitigate supply chain risk.
+ Assesses supplier technical capabilities and advises procurement partners to inform supplier strategy.
+ Provides inputs to technical aspects of supplier scorecards
Project Management
+ Acts as a portfolio manager for all responsible projects. Creates project management standard work, processes, and execution metrics.
+ Uses project management tools and techniques to drive and monitor progress through implementation and aggregates data to provide level appropriate report outs to peers and leadership.
+ Understands broader organizational projects and timelines and works to ensure the Team’s work is appropriately
prioritized and resourced.
+ Manages the budget by providing accurate monthly forecast updates.
+ Understands and evaluates technical decisions through a general knowledge of products and their applications, assessing technical risks, and seeking advice from cross functional experts.
+ Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
+ Implements project standards that mitigate risk to avoid quality, delivery, or execution risks.
**OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** **:**
+ Other duties as assigned.
**TRAVEL**
+ Up to 15% domestic and international travel may be required
**QUALIFICATIONS** **:**
+ BS Degree, over 7 years experience minimum in component/system design engineering role
+ Advanced technical acumen in design for quality/manufacturability (component design, GD&T, materials selection, system design)
+ Experience managing complex supplier change projects
+ Experience in electromechanical instrument assembly including process fixturing and automation
+ Experience in sourcing/supplier management process improvements and supplier PPV projects identification and execution.
+ Background in both new product design and operations. Experience in all stages of design from concept to qualification to manufacturing transfer
+ Deep knowledge in lean manufacturing and/or six sigma
+ Strong proven project management skills
+ Demonstrated change management skills
+ Strong data and fact-based problem-solving/root cause analysis

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $121,000 - $171,000 USD per year.
