Our Supplier Quality Engineering team works with our supply chain to develop, produce, and sustain components that meet eero’s high quality bar. As Quality is one of the cornerstones of eero hardware, the SQE Manager is a critical leader for ensuring eero products meet the high bar expected from our customers. Key responsibilities include developing approved suppliers for mass production of high quality parts, managing suppliers in mass production to continuously produce high quality parts, qualifying new suppliers to support increased capacity and/or new programs, maintaining quality assurance, and addressing all aspects of supplier process readiness.
Key job responsibilities
People Management:
- Lead an Asia-based team of Supplier Quality Engineers, accountable for developing and producing high quality components, sub-assemblies, and accessories
- Develop, align, and monitor team goals against business objectives
- Align individual goals to team goals and business objectives
- Provide performance feedback and coaching
- Resolve conflict
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships
Supplier Quality
- Lead and conduct supplier audits for currently approved and new suppliers
- Drive suppliers to produce the high quality parts by implementing quality control processes and timely mitigations for development or production issues
- Ensure the supplier is ready for sustained production against quality targets
- Lead quality activities and qualifications for NPI programs at component suppliers, including FAI, Cpk, PFMEA, control plan, MSA, MSOP, correlation, SOP, SIP, PPAP etc.
- Lead cosmetic inspection specification and cosmetic limit sample selection & approval with partner teams (product, PD, tooling, quality etc.)
Strong Problem-Solving
- Identify and resolve potential problems with design of new products, specifications, components, and materials
- Partners with Supply Chain to reduce life cycle cost of materials and components while maintaining a high sensitivity to quality
- Maintain communication with suppliers and internal teams on appropriate issue identification, corrective action, and resolution
- Interface with functional manager to establish cadenced goals, key performance indicators, and milestones
Sustaining Quality and Standardization
- Manage suppliers in mass production to continuously produce high quality parts
- Establish and implement processes to ensure that all components meet acceptable and standards in terms of test, sampling, and materials
- Collecting data and compile supplier quality scorecards as key input to SBR; present to suppliers and lead the actions to improve the supplier
- Maintain records for supplier inspections, audits, and corrective actions
