Job OverviewThe Supply Chain Manager, organized by product lines and/or commodities and suppliers, has the responsibility to lead and manage the process of planning and expediting scheduled requirements with the supply base. This position is responsible for communicating and confirming forward planning requirements with suppliers, managing supplier capacity and priorities during times of capacity shortage and lastly evaluating the performance of our supply base to both our needs and their lead times. In addition, this position will be responsible for all reporting function in the Materials department.
Scope
This position is a key manager in the performance improvement of $30M plus of inventory consisting of up to 35,000 parts. Forecast and inventory order policy decisions made by this position impact $60M of purchases to suppliers and the efficiency of a supply chain consisting of up to 800 suppliers This position will be focused on the Undercarriage and Forklift parts business Generating 50+ reports delivered to the business on a daily, weekly, monthly basis Supervising around 7 planners and analysts Key Job Responsibilities Develop and manage tactical execution strategies and objectives to supporting corporate inventory and availability targets for the respective business units Evaluate the accuracy and quality of system execution signals jointly with the Manager of Inventory Strategy Evaluate vendor performance and collaborate with Purchasing and Customer Service teams to resolve vendor performance issues Maintain performance metrics, conduct root cause analysis and establish counter measures to achieve business plan objectives Participate in the development and documentation of overall materials management policies and processes Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree Business/Management/Statistics Preferred, MBA and APICS certification a plus. Knowledge of planning tools and processes Manufacturing, production planning and/or whole goods product experience a plus Extreme sense of urgency and bias for action Embraces accountability and responsibility-both shared and individual Professional PC skills in Excel, Power Point, Word, and Access. Visio a plus 7-10 years experience of scheduling and supply chain execution preferred Professional written and oral communication skills required Additional Information
