Overview of The Role

Under the supervision of the Director, Tax Accounting and Canadian Taxation and in collaboration with the Director, Taxation, the Manager, Taxation will participate in Canadian and international tax compliance activities, tax provisions, tax audits and various projects in Canada and abroad. You will be part of an experienced global tax team of around 20 people.  Your role will require you to work closely with various members of the tax team and Saputo's various departments, including accounting, legal, capital project management, valuation, human resources, etc.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

Canadian Taxation

Prepare and analyze tax provisions for assigned Canadian entities (including tax continuity schedules by legal entity - installments, provision, notice of assessment, etc.)Prepare Canadian tax returns (T2, T5013) and underlying forms (T106, T1134, T1135, etc.) for assigned Canadian entitiesGather and validate the information for the preparation of various tax formsAnalyze received notices of assessmentWork with team members on various Canadian tax auditsPrepare analysis and responses to internal, external and government auditsParticipate in domestic reorganizationsSupport financing activitiesConduct research, analysis, and prepare tax memos to support our tax positionsMaintenance of tax attributes (ACB, safe income, paid-up capital, etc.)Interpret and monitor the evolution of taxation and changes in Canadian tax legislation

International Taxation

Analyze the income of controlled foreign affiliates and calculate the foreign accrual property income (‘’FAPI’’), if applicablePrepare the calculation of surpluses of foreign affiliatesManage compliance for permanent establishments of Canadian companies abroadParticipate in the analysis of Canadian and foreign tax consequences of fund repatriations, reorganizations, and financing of our foreign affiliatesParticipate in the management of international projectsParticipate in compliance related to OECD Pillar 2Work with team members on various tax audits of international activitiesPrepare the analyses required for government audits

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or master’s degree in taxationCPA certification or solid accounting experience4 to 6 years of tax experience in an accounting firm or a combination of experience in an accounting firm and a multinational companyEmphasis on quality and added value of workAutonomy, professionalism, curiosity and team spiritKnowledge of Microsoft Office suite and TaxprepBilingualism (fluency in written and spoken French and English)

As part of his duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.

 Salary Range: $97,155 - $127,520

 *Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
