The Team and Leader Statement
You would be part of the Branded Research Centre of Excellence (BR CoE) that works with globally recognized experts to support and contribute to Gartner’s vendor and product evaluation research like Magic Quadrant. The CoE will also identify and introduce process innovation and best practices for the research it performs, and will help develop new research methods, including continuing efforts to increase the use of data and algorithms in research.
About this role:
We are looking for a tenured professional who has a proven track record of setting up new teams, and successfully running them. As a manager, you would be expected to manage a team of Individual contributors aligned with different Research Practices, enabling them to deliver must-have research. Your team tracks significant market events and analyses structured/unstructured external/internal data to support vendor and product evaluation research. It also drafts client-ready evaluations. It leads identification and introduction of best practices, and of process mapping, which supports improvement and automation.
What you will do:
Lead a team of Market Research Specialists / Sr. Market Research Specialists and effectively manage multiple research projects Oversee end to end project management - Project Plan, Timeliness & Quality of Projects (addressing any roadblocks)Provide comprehensive project brief to your associates, and advise on research process/methodologiesStakeholder management – regular interactions with the Leadership Team, Research Team Manager, and other senior members of methodology and the research team.Ensure the CoE help Research analysts with use of strategic tools and techniques to analyses findings and generate insightsContinuously seek feedback from Gartner analysts and other relevant stakeholders to further improve on deliverablesManage resource allocation, staffing status and ensure ROI of existing resources, utilizing existing skills and competencies for project requests.Oversee recruitment, training new recruits and building internal knowledge baseEnsuring the quality of deliverables – making sure regular checks are done by reviewing the deliverables.Motivate, coach, facilitate, solve work problems, address people-related issues, and be actively involved in the day-to-day activities of the teamWhat you will need:
Bachelors/Post Graduation (MBA) in any specialization from leading Tier I & II B-schools8 - 10 years of experience in the research industry; minimum 2-3 years of experience in managing and mentoring junior resources in the teamExperience in managing multiple senior stakeholders across geographies will be an added advantageExcellent English written and verbal communication skills, and research background will be essential.Strong process-oriented mindset and critical thinkingDemonstrated analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions.Good interpersonal skills and ability to coach team members.Good knowledge across disciplines within the IT industry, vertical markets, major vendors, products or solutionsWho you are:
