For a complete description of our benefits for this position, **click here.** **UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES** has an outstanding job opportunity for a **Manager, Training** position. **You will manage a GREAT, high performing, high functioning team made up of well-seasoned, expert trainers!** **WORK SCHEDULE** + 100% FTE – 40 hours per week + Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** **UW Medicine IT Services (ITS)** is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications RESPONSIBILITIES** + Managing training program development and delivery for Epic Electronic Health Record applications, Enterprise Revenue Cycle, and other clinician facing technologies + Leading and developing program staff, including Training Specialists, and one or more of the following: Super User Adoption Specialists, Training Logistics Coordinators, and/or Education Technology Specialist/Instructional Designers + Recruiting, hiring, developing, and managing corrective action for assigned training program staff + Managing relationships with project teams, leadership committees, clinical leadership, site coordinators, and external vendors + Working with all levels of operations to identify training needs, coordinate training approach and goals, and assess and administer training plan + Overseeing Training Specialists and other program staff in the design and delivery of learning solutions to meet training needs and ensure high quality, relevant, and effective education for users + Reviewing and analyzing reporting metrics, recommending interventions, and monitoring analytics for improvements + Overseeing the development and maintenance of standardized and UW Medicine branded training materials, including templates and operational documentation required by auditors + Leading projects for training enhancements, upgrades, new applications, and educational development in coordination with the Project Management Office and other ITS departments + Researching and recommending new educational technologies and curriculum delivery methodologies that increase learning effectiveness and lower information systems training costs **REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, English, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare, Communication, Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience + 6+ years of experience which should include: + 4+ years’ experience mentoring, leading, or managing technology and/or business professionals + Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities with proven ability to influence in matrix environment + Proven ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and provide guidance and leadership to staff + Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a comprehensive training program in a complex healthcare environment, inclusive of:o Targeted objectives, such as enhancing productivity, improving work quality, and building firm loyalty and employee moraleo Integrated information technology solutions with end user workflow and process design + 4+ years clinical experience or Educator/Trainer experience, including conducting instructor-led training for adults + 4+ years EHR experience (preferably Epic) as a user, analyst, or trainer + Expert skill in designing and developing curricula in a complex environment, using standardized design methodology, and integrating technical solutions with end user workflow + Expert knowledge writing, proofing, and editing courseware content for grammar, accuracy, and clarity + Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, group dynamics and facilitation, needs analysis, program design, and evaluation, and change management + Strong knowledge of evolving technology and ability to adjust training plans with advancements in analytics and artificial intelligence + Demonstrated, progressive experience managing multi-year, complex training projects, preferably in support of an application implementation + Ability to develop detailed training project plans that integrate and coordinate with master project plans + Familiarity with industry-available media and education delivery processes (e.g., eLearning) used to develop comprehensive training programs that provide the best available training solutions to meet a variety of end user constituencies + Experience using learning management systems and how the systems can be leveraged to facilitate end user training delivery, course registration, competency testing, and related functions + Knowledge of continuous process/quality improvement processes and their application in creation of education programs that are evidence-based, data driven, and outcomes oriented + Proficiency with MS Office, knowledge of Information Technology Software Implementation Lifecycle + Broad understanding of learning processes and tools, such as needs assessment, task analysis, instructor-led and web-based curriculum design, training
