The Transformation Architecture & Delivery (TA&D) team sits at the heart of EY Financial Services Business Transformation practice. Our TA&D team consists of deeply experienced and proven Financial Services professionals, who draw on their knowledge to provide specialised delivery leadership to Insurance companies operating in the General Insurance, Life & Pensions and Speciality Insurance/London Markets sector to manage their strategic, most complex and business-critical change.

 

Some of the client services that the TA&D team offers include:

Helping our clients manage large, complex programmes and portfolios of change, whether it be business transformation, technology and data led transformations, regulatory driven change, digital change initiatives or customer remediation programmes. Support and advise clients to enhance their transformation capabilities by assessing their current transformation processes, identifying areas for improvement, implementing strategies, and coaching their staff to build a more robust and effective transformation function within their organization. Develop and maintain the transformation portfolio strategy for our clients, ensuring alignment with their organisation goals and business objectives. You will ensure effective integration and coordination across all portfolio initiatives, reporting on portfolio performance, providing insights and recommendations at decision-making forums. Provide an independent objective assessment of the status and health of client’s transformation initiatives and programmes, ranging from rapid ‘health-checks’ and gateway reviews to full programme monitoring, for Regulators, Boards, the C-suite, transformation sponsors and teams. Shape and mobilise our client’s strategic programmes and establish effective governance at the level of Programme, Value Stream, and/or Transformation Office (TMO).

 

In providing these services, the team brings together multi-disciplinary teams from across EY Consulting and the wider firm; working closely with our clients, we assess situations quickly, apply our thinking, offer points of view and advice, build confidence, and deliver outcome focussed transformational change for our clients.

Skills and attributes for success 

Successful candidates would be required to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

 

Client delivery and business acumen:

Significant experience of leading large, cross functional teams to deliver complex transformation programmes and strategic portfolios of change for the Life & Pensions, Specialty and / or General Insurance markets. Prior consulting experience, encompassing time spent in a Big 4 or top tier consulting firm or in the internal consulting/transformation/change function within an Insurer.  Deep understanding of the General Insurance, Life & Pensions or Speciality Insurance/London Markets sector including knowledge of market trends and business challenges affecting insurers, reinsurers, brokers and other market participants, regulatory environment, financial products, and the technology landscape. Prior experience of delivering strategic change within Insurance sector in two or more of the following: Launch of new digital products & services, development and implementation of customer engagement strategies, customer-centric models to enhance customer engagement or development of omni-channel/digital self-service capabilities Optimisation of claims and underwriting processes or other cost transformation initiatives Implementation of regulatory reporting requirements/standards such as Solvency II – IMAP & MMC, IFRS 17, Consumer Duty, Pensions Dashboard, CSRD, DORA etc. and leading on any associated remediation (S166). Implementation of regulatory reporting solutions and compliance frameworks. Establishment of data governance frameworks and data quality management. Definition/implementation/embedding of new target operating models. Design and operation of large Transformation Management office (TMO). Entity restructuring or set up – including Part VII transfers, regulatory permissions, MGA start up. Implementation / upgrades to Finance / Actuarial systems or insurance platforms. Third Party Administration (TPA) transformation including outsourcing and /or Back Book transfers. Design and implementation of Transformation Functions including use of 3rd Party and / or Offshore Delivery Centres. Proficiency in business and data analysis: Ability to identify and draw actionable insights from complex datasets, assess our client’s business needs, conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and provide strategic guidance on how to best utilise technology and other solutions to meet their goals and objectives. Hands-on experience with Agile delivery methods and frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Kanban, including performing roles like Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project Manager/Coach. Professional delivery certifications i.e. Agile certification i.e. PSM I (Professional Scrum Master) or PSPO I (Professional Scrum Product Owner) and/or relevant project management certifications i.e. PMP (Project Management Professional) or Prince 2. Adept at use of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as Microsoft PPM, Planview, Planisware, ServiceNow ITBM, Oracle Primavera, SAP PPM, Broadcom Clarity, JIRA Align, Smartsheet etc. Bachelor’s degree (or degree equivalent); a Masters degree or MBA is highly desirable.

Highly flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work across diverse market sectors and be ready to ‘get their hands dirty’ as well as providing leadership and strategic direction.
