Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the Warranty COE Senior Manager to overseeing the management of the Global campaign reserves. The role is responsible for the global management and reporting of all warranty campaign reserves. The position is also responsible for a variety of tasks that includes not only reviewing the work of a group of analysts but also coordination with various operational groups (Quality, Finance, CCA, FP&A). The position is fast paced, requiring an individual that can operate independently under tight deadlines and is comfortable with a wide range of responsibilities. The work requires strong project management, collaboration, communication, innovation, analytics, problem solving, data management skills.
What You’ll Do
Coordinates variety of meetings, events, and activities to improve organizational communications and teamwork
Manage all aspects of the campaign reserve process including annual rate setting, exercising a high level of independent judgment, decision-making, attention to detail, and initiative
Track, report and drive insights on field action spend & projections as compared to reserve balance to ensure adequate reserves
Perform various financial reporting and analysis activities including cash flow forecasting and any other required corporate submissions as assigned
Coordinate with other finance/accounting teams and cross functionally to ensure management of approved / open field actions, resolve issues and break down roadblocks in a timely manner, and perform other analyses and lead special projects
Willingness to step outside the traditional controllership role to modernize, re-engineer and streamline work efforts in the end-to-end process
Identify, interpret and analyze potential risks and issues
Provide financial analysis, consultation and decision support to stakeholders
Work with external auditors Ernst & Young (EY) and GM Financial Assurance Core Team to ensure a strong internal control environment
Support SEC Reporting with campaign related disclosures
Proactively find opportunity for improvements and lead change
Develop and present data to other members of the organization
Hire, train, coach, develop and evaluate employees
Model GM’s desired behaviors including safety and inclusion
Other special projects and duties as assigned
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance
7+ years of relevant work experience in accounting/finance
Project Management experience
Ability to execute variety of accounting/finance activities including processes to track costs, operational/transactional accounting activities, financial controls, etc.
Dealing with ambiguity, building relationships, focus on results
Business Partnering, Data Reporting; Project Management
Proven ability to operate and collaborate cross functionally
Thorough knowledge and understanding of corporate/unit policies and procedures
Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints.
Ability to embrace and manage change
A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

Experience/ knowledge of Hyperion Financial Systems
Experience with GM SAP systems [ledger(s), warranty management]
CPA certification
