Manager, Workforce Development
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Workforce Development will be responsible for leading the team developing workforce development strategies to build current future pipelines for key industries in Georgia. They will provide leadership and management to leverage our resources, knowledge and expertise to support and partner with education and workforce development systems across the state of Georgia in the implementation of those strategies. The Manager will utilize workforce data at the company and state level to validate external business drivers and internal needs to direct current and future pipeline programs. The manager will lead partnerships with education and workforce development organizations, labor partners, associations and governmental agencies to maximize available funding and educational capacity associated with labor pool development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the team dedicated to developing and implementing custom strategies across multiple regions of the state in collaboration with business leaders to improve the Company’s employment brands and overall workforce effectiveness Establish key relationship with external partners that help identify talent and have aligned interest in employing individuals within our industry and local communities Utilize partnerships to strengthen energy and key industry workforce development efforts and represent Georgia Power on the local, state, and national level Curate key skills and curriculum to educate and train the available workforce with external educators, internal training groups, and industry partners Develop and provide strategic direction for a workforce plan to support the recruitment and selection and development of talent in hard to fill positions for the company and across industries in the state Lead collaborative efforts with key stakeholders to develop strategies, define new programs and initiatives, create and execute implementation plans, define long-term program ownership, and measure impact. Actively participate in economic and workforce initiatives and organizations and serve as advisor to Economic Development ad Region External Affairs and other internal partners to further economic efforts for state and company. Partner with Georgia Power Business Units and Southern Company subsidiaries to develop and share efficient workforce development programs and initiatives and ensure pipeline programs are meeting company needs. Use multiple channels to effectively disseminate information to appropriate internal and external parties in timely manner fully leveraging branding opportunities. Gather data and deliver insightful analysis and recommendations to business concerning current and future people capabilities, climate and performance Develop a deep understanding of the business and employees that shapes the expectations and trajectory of future performance capabilities Generate awareness and education opportunities within our communities for employment within the company and industry Display and articulate to candidates how and where to obtain the necessary credentials and skills for the employment and connect them requisite programs and/or partners Work with Talent Acquisition on Recruiting, and Training to influence the hiring and training of new employee resources

EDUCATION, CERTIFIATIONS/LICENSES
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Degree in business, education, communications, marketing or related field preferred
Related Work Experience
Required: 7 years of experience in management, human resources, consulting or program implementations. Demonstrated ability to interact with Senior Management and peers on matters requiring internal or cross-company coordination.
Preferred: 5+ years of specific experience working directly with executive management. Experience working within industry and workforce development systems.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Office environment, regular travel within the U.S.
