Manager, Youth and Family Programming

We’re looking for an amazing Youth and Family Programming Manager to fill this role, which is based in our Fort Lauderdale office. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the creation, implementation, and management of all youth and family programming. You’ll ensure the delivery of high-quality, engaging activities that cater to children, teens, and families while maintaining strict adherence to safety, health, and legal regulations. The position also involves managing department budgets, supervising staff, and driving program innovation through strategic planning and collaboration with internal and external partners. With a focus on enhancing the guest experience, the Youth and Family Programming Manager continuously evaluates program success based on feedback and industry trends, ensuring Princess Cruises remains a leader in family programs. You can expect to travel both domestically & internationally about 25% of the year. Here’s a summary of what Princess is looking for in its Youth and Family Programming Manager. Is this you? **Responsibilities** Develop, implement, and manage youth and family programs across the fleet to enhance the overall guest experience. + Create and introduce innovative new programs, manage partnerships, and oversee project execution. + Establish standard practices and guidelines for program delivery. + Lead project management, including dry dock planning and in-service enhancements. + Drive the design and innovation of outdoor recreational areas. Oversee and manage department budgets, track financial performance, and allocate resources to meet program objectives. + Develop and present a comprehensive financial plan for youth and family programming. + Handle forecasting and reporting of financial performance. + Coordinate, order, and track supplies, prizes, and materials to support programs. + Strategically plan for large expense repairs, replacements, and capital projects. Collaborate with shipboard teams and corporate departments to ensure seamless operations and maintain consistency across the fleet. Lead and mentor onboard youth staff and managers, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality program delivery. Continuously evaluate and enhance programs based on guest feedback and industry trends. + Monitor and analyze guest scores and feedback for program performance. + Develop and implement action plans in response to guest feedback. Verify that all programs adhere to safety, health, and legal standards. + Ensure all youth programs and staff strictly adhere to company policies and procedures and that all programs comply with United States Public Health (USPH) standards. + Ensure youth programs operate in accordance with ADA (American Disability Act) requirements. + Perform risk management due diligence related to safety, public health, legal, and medical considerations before program delivery. + Stay informed of and adhere to all legal requirements for youth programming. + Address escalated issues, collaborating with relevant company resources when necessary. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Recreation, Hospitality Management, or a related field + Minimum of 5 years of management experience in youth programming, recreation, or family entertainment, preferably in a hospitality or cruise industry setting. + Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams, including training and development. + Proven ability to create, implement, and manage large-scale programs for children, teens, and families. + Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, public health standards (USPH), and ADA requirements. + Excellent budget management, financial forecasting, and project management skills. + Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge: + Extensive understanding of youth and family programming, including age-appropriate activities and entertainment. + Strong familiarity with safety, health, and legal regulations, including USPH standards and ADA requirements. + In-depth knowledge of budget management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation. + Understanding of guest service principles and the ability to apply them in a hospitality or cruise setting. + Awareness of industry trends and best practices in family entertainment and youth programs. Skills: + Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff. + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with guests, staff, and corporate stakeholders. + Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and operations simultaneously. + Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address program challenges and escalated issues. + Creativity and innovation in program design and recreational space development. Abilities: + Ability to create engaging and safe youth and family programs that enhance the overall guest experience. + Capacity to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to achieve program goals. + Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing guest needs and operational demands. + Competency in evaluating program success using data, guest feedback, and industry benchmarks for continuous improvement. + Ability to manage stress, remain calm under pressure, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism. **This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday). The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired.
