About the role

We seek an exceptional Lead Product Manager for a new identity related initiative that will impact every PayPal Inc customer worldwide. PayPal operates multiple consumer brands with different identity systems. This leader will drive the replacement of these different systems with a unified identity system that addresses the needs of PayPal customers, merchants, and internal PayPal requirements. This is a high visibility role that will impact hundreds of millions of customers. We seek a leader who can both operate comfortably owning / managing a platform, and have a keen eye for insisting on exceedingly high customer experiences.

About PayPal Product Management

At PayPal, Product Managers are data-driven decision makers, building new features and products that touch millions of customers and merchants around the globe. The ideal candidate will perform analysis or mining of data, evangelize the insights drawn from the data analysis and work with developers and designers to define features based on these insights. As a Lead Product Manager, you will be focused on ensuring the aggressive expansion of PayPal’s business, helping to explore key opportunities for growth, creating stellar customer experiences and supporting all aspects of the business while partnering with employees from all backgrounds and organizational leaders.

Deep domain expertise in Identity: This leader will have an extensive background in building and driving adoption of consumer facing identity solutions.

Building high-growth consumer facing products: This leader will have experience building high-growth consumer products.  Relentlessly high standards for outstanding customer experiences is the essence of everything we build in the Identity, Onboarding, and Privacy organization.

Building Scalable Products:  A key success factor of the role is a robust strategy, developed in partnership with other key product leaders, on how we scale secure identity solutions across geographies, devices, and operating systems with the goal of delivering simple, consistent, and secure experiences for consumers and merchants.

Advanced problem-solving skills: This role will require advanced problem-solving skills to build elegant solutions to thorny problems due to the complexity of the technical and regulatory environment in which our products are deployed.  This leader will be comfortable using data and experimentation to arrive at solutions.

Leadership and collaboration: Login touches every product that is built across PayPal.  This leader must be able to bring people around a shared vision and drive execution across teams by influence and inspiration.

Key Responsibilities:

Think strategically and creatively to gather merchant and customer insights and help define the product vision and strategy for a new Identity productEngage with all relevant cross-functional teams (business development, program managers, development, UX, analytics, legal) to foster sponsorship and mobilize required resources for engineering product development.Develop product roadmap and GTM strategies for your productDefine detailed product requirements, scope, ship, KPIs, measure features and use rapid cycles to iterate and learnDrive product development by building end to end solutions with a team of world-class engineers and designers, and ship a first iteration of the productUnderstand PayPal’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as best in classBuild trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams

Basic Requirements:

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience. Strong analytical and data visualization skillsAbility to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in fast-paced environmentsStrong problem-solving abilities - you can cut through the noise and laser focus on what really mattersExperience working with internet technologies, or the payments industry is desirableExperience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies to understand customers and an ability to explore and structure customers’ insightsStrong ability to translate product needs to technology and to understand technologyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam player with ability to interface and build relations at all levels
