Manager I, Data Processing Services, BSS

 

POSITION PROFILE

Provides leadership, training, and direction of personnel to ensure contract compliance and employee development. Oversees implementation and compliance of data processing policies and procedures. Interacts with customer to ensure expectations are being met. The Data Processing Manager manages greater than $3.0 million in annual billings. This position is a key member of the Ricoh BSS management team.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures assignments correctly and in accordance with company performance standards. Ensures contracts are managed according to company standards, client specifications & customer requirements, by effectively supervising assigned personnel and validation of service quality. Manages department labor costs. Maintains efficient operation by holding direct reports accountable for quality & efficiency of work. Ultimately responsible for contract compliance, HR compliance, and financial compliance. Meets training objectives and follows up on employee training progress and performance. Clearly communicates job expectations/consequences of employees by training, cross training, coaching, counseling, directing, evaluating the work of subordinates to increase their performance and work quality. Makes employee safety a daily focus. Takes ownership of employee performance by ensuring regularly scheduled coaching time to work with marginal performers. Maintains adequate and quality personnel by interviewing, hiring, and by doing performance reviews; ensuring internal job openings are posted. Motivates employees and recognizes accomplishments in a timely manner. Maintains positive internal working relationships with all department employees by communicating in a professional manner and by providing constructive feedback. Promotes an environment of integrity and responsibility in the workplace by creating a work environment where they "lead by example." Coordinates and implements contract pricing escalators to assigned account base. Completes required reports and other paperwork. Responsible for managing P&L. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:

4-Year college degree is preferred; or equivalent experience in related field. Prior management experience is preferred. Requires experience in setting goals by defining and prioritizing specific, realistic objectives. Requires proven track record of leadership and integrity by processing 5-7 years of related experience in production, 2+ years P&L responsibility; extensive supervisory experience. Requires experience in training by delivering classroom and informal training sessions. Possesses experience in a team environment by maintaining positive, productive relationships with co-workers, peers, management, sales, and production departments.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Possesses ability to effectively use a personal computer by utilizing standard business software applications. Possesses excellent oral communication skills by clearly presenting information through the spoken work in positive and negative circumstances. Possesses ability to motivate individuals and groups by creating a positive work environment, quality training, and mentoring. Possesses independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems. Possesses mathematical functions relative to business operations by adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing all units of measurement. Possesses ability to establish effective communication with direct reports by encouraging open and honest communication; receiving and giving feedback. Possesses ability to remains updated on current technology and trends in the marketplace by reading relevant journals, magazines, and newspapers.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Various levels of travel may be required. In addition to normal working hours, is on call 24 hours via pager. Requires ability to work 8-12 hour shifts including nights, weekends, overtime and holidays depending upon volume of work to satisfy account needs. Requires ability to work in a production facility, adapting to moderate to high noise levels. Copes with moderate stress level by adapting to and coping with stressful situations in a positive manner. Some physical effort is required; often requires standing and walking. Requires standing up to 4 hours a day using a copy machine. May be required to move supplies by lifting 50 lbs. from the floor to waist height, carrying 10 feet and lowering back to the floor.
