The IT Manager leads a variety of services that support both the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research IBBR IT infrastructure as well as research computing needs The service portfolio is made up of administrative infrastructure research infrastructure and support web development and helpdesk Administrative support includes wired and wireless networking IP telephony building security and automation virtual server and data center management Research infrastructure includes a local high performance computing cluster several petabytes of data storage dozens of scientific software installations and support for researcher owned web database and storage servers The IT Manager provides leadership for the portfolio of IT services The IT Manager manages direct reports who manage the above service portfolios A hands on approach will require the IT Manager to have the skills to support all aspects of IBBRs IT services portfolio
