Job Overview:
Manages supply chain staff and activities for designated supply areas within Surgical Services, including flow of products and special request items across all service lines. Oversees daily requisitioning and replacement of supplies in the operating room.

The assigned hours for OR are to best serve the facilitySCMs are expected to work until the job is done. If you start at 6 a.m. the expectation is to work until the tasks for the day are completeMaintain documented cadence of staff meetingsResponsible for improving efficiencies including acquisitioning, receiving, storage and accounting of supplies, determining cost effectiveness, quality controlWorks collaboratively with the Clinical Resource Team (Value Analysis) when new products are requested; participates in the Value Analysis process and attends meetings; works with CRD on product special requests, manages process flow from value analysis, to trial to purchase. Executes CRD and VAT approved conversions in the OR and communicates to areas impacted by the conversion.Manages overnight/second day STAT orders to ensure monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) are met or exceededEnsures timely processing of all Bill Only requisitions to meet or exceed KPI targetsMaintains PARs for OR according to policy and meets KPI goalsManages consignment inventory according to RWJBH policyFollows RWJBH policy on procurement of capital purchasesParticipates in budgetary meetings for OR area spendGenerates reports for finance and OR leadership to identify cost savingsAssists in the reconciliation of spend vs. volume for the OR Oversees and reviews current department practices to assure system policies and procedures are being followedPerforms documented weekly inspections, rounding in all areas managed by the OR supply chain team. Performs monthly documented audit of products with expiration dates to avoid waste and financial lossIdentifies stalled inventory. Creates a plan to repurpose, sell or donate stalled inventory according to policy, i.e., Obsolete InventoryProvides monthly detailed report to the site finance team summarizing expired and stalled good with descriptions, MFR, model number, quantity, cost, and disposition.Assists Director in facilitating physical inventories, segregates, and labels consignment inventoryPerforms delegated tasks and special projects as assigned by DirectorCollaborates with reimbursement to identify billing invoices needed for revenue integrity.Manages personnel functions including training to achieve maximum staff productivity using automated systems to reduce supply chain expenseActs as a subject matter expert for special projects, including training support in PeopleSoft. Supports administration with project management requests, as well as special invoice reconciliation concernsMeets with OR scheduling and charge nurse daily to proactively plan for supply needs in all upcoming cases. Discusses any special needs with service line leaders and reviews any product concernsPrepares for upcoming cases by obtaining and reviewing surgery booking sheet and schedule two weeks out and daily as neededTracks and monitor all recalls for surgical services using the ECRI tool as well as other notifications. Works with risk management to identify recalled items by department following the RWJBH policy for recallsResponsible for management of all biologic and synthetic implant tissue supply and maintenance of tissue tracking systemResponsible for identifying and reporting safety concerns, medical errors, device malfunction, and facility damage (walls, ceiling tiles, etc.)Performs all other duties as assignedBenefits and Perks:
