Northrop Grumman Financial Shared Services (FSS) is seeking a General Accounting Manager 1 for our Irving, TX, El Segundo, CA, Falls Church, VA, Bloomington, MN, or Melbourne, FL locations. This position is a hybrid position and will require a minimum of two days in the office.
The Manager of General Accounting provides leadership and guidance to the enterprise and sector specific accounting shared services organization. The position supports Northrop Grumman operating segment(s).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinates daily accounting operations in ERPs (Costpoint and SAP), ensuring completion of tasks timely, effectively, and in accordance with policy and quality requirements.Coordinates month end, quarter, and year end accounting close requirements. This includes the review of trial balances, loading GL and required schedule data to reporting system (and reviewing / validating accuracy, as well as resolving errors), and reconciling GL and required schedule data to reporting system.Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations in Blackline and works to resolve reconciling items timely.Journal entry review, approval, and posting across various types of accounts, including accruals, intercompany, payroll, accounts payable and cash receipts, lease accounting, and international accounting transactions.Manage direct reports across locations, overseeing team members’ performance and engaging in career coaching/development conversations.Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with other departments, business units and sector financial reporting teams.Champion for process automation/improvements, leading implementation efforts and assisting team with a vision.Represents and supports organization on special projects, including system upgrade/implementationsOther duties as assigned.·
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline5 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting1 year of leadership or supervisory experienceKnowledge of software applications as they relate to the General Ledger and supporting systemsExposure to financial reporting tools; Hyperion Financial Management preferred or similar systemKnowledge of GAAP/FAR, cost pools/allocations and inter-company accountingStrong digital transformation, system implementations, and data analytic skillsDemonstrated leadership skills, including decision making and executionPreferred Qualifications:
Costpoint and SAP ERP experienceCPAExperience working in a shared services organization and/or big 4 accounting/consultingSalary Range: $102,400.00 - $153,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
