What we're looking for:
The Manager Accounting is a first-level manager that oversees the day-to-day accounting functions and financial reporting activities of an accounting team. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, focus on internal control, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
What you'll do:
Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance by verifying the accuracy of methods and controls according to GAAP.
Oversee month end closing processes, monitor for and identify non-compliance and other areas of potential risk and/or fraudulent/questionable activity and/or transactions. Immediately perform the required action to address and correct issues.
Ensure that clerks and technicians are performing their duties properly and efficiently.
Manage the global reconciliation tool to include working collaboratively with the segments to ensure all account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed monthly.
Coordinates with process and control owners to design key internal controls and identify changes in existing and/or new activities, which require controls and control process enhancements.
Supervise less experienced team members, review the work and analysis performed by those team members, and provide guidance on more complex transactions and reconciliations.
Serve as audit liaison for both Internal and External auditors and manage SOX activities for the Corporate Accounting Group.
Identify areas of improvement within the accounting department to increase efficiencies and develop streamlined accounting processes, implementing solutions accordingly.
Monitors implementation of recommendations made by both the internal and external auditors to ensure improvements in systems and controls
Perform other duties as necessary.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
6-8 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 years of management experience.
CPA certification preferred.
