Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to join IND-HPL-Fin - Acct -Global Finance Services Division.
Incumbent will provide technical expertise and perform complex accounting work that supports business processes.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Thiruvallur-RIOP CIPL Plant
What you will do
To perform supervisory functions with respect to the cost accounting and business analysis of RIOP division. You will be exposed to variety of cost accounting functions and will accomplish a high level of compilation of data and detailed analysis work that supports business process. As a cost accountant you will have the opportunity to maintain accurate product cost for products manufactured at Thiruvallur facility.
Incumbent will provide technical expertise and perform complex accounting work that supports business processes.Additionally, this position will:
Have a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures,Apply and provide guidance on accounting issuesResolve issues independentlyParticipate on and lead teams addressing complex problemsAdvises and provides guidance to multiple functional areas and levels of authority. Incumbents will demonstrate knowledge and ability to handle accounting issues independently.New product Introduction (NPI) comprehensive support which includes determining discounted cash flow (DCF) and Internal rate of return of different projects.Annual Standard cost setting which includes Normal and Machine rate development,Monthly abnormal identification, analysis, and cost reporting,Material cost analysis and reason of its variance compared to plan vs actual,Support management in taking costing decisions in various projects and cost reductions programs, providing alternatives cost view and competitive analysis for sourcing decisions. Determine pricing of products.Preparation and submission of costing journal entries for monthly book closing and maintenance of costing system,Monthly routing in SAP, clearance of Standard and current cost grief in SAP related to costing module,Development of new/alternative costing methodologies, processes, and/or systems, Initiate various automation projects in cost accounting activities. Develop and monitor material cost reduction program initiated at the facility level.The variety of accounting tasks ranges from low to medium complexity. Interaction outside the workgroup is typically with peers. As the Accountant gains experience, he/she will develop a technical understanding of more complex accounting issues and expand their decision-making capability.What you will have
Requires a certified accountant (CA/CMA) with college degree in accounting and 6-8 years’ post professional qualification experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.Good accounting background, thorough knowledge of accounting flow and related methods of recording in the General Ledger and knowledge in SAP environment (FI, MM & CO Module).Must demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, inter-personal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.Effective communications skills and a good understanding of computer systems especially in MS-Office and Financial Analytics Tool (Power BI, Power Apps etc.)Skills desired:
