Manager Accounting

The Manager Accounting will provide support for financial functions including general ledger accounting, shared services, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and various internal and external audits. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the organization's month-end close process, fiscal records and preparation of its internal financial reports. **Major Responsibilities** + Select, coach, and develop staff by setting clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. + Manage performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering corrective action when necessary. + Other supervisory responsibilities include: Ensuring the workload of the team is managed, interviewing and hiring, monitoring and evaluating team goals to ensure achievement. Assist in directing the organization's overall financial policies. Responsible for a wide variety of general ledger accounting and statistical data and reports financial statements such as balance sheet, profit-and-loss statement, cash flow and related supplementary reporting schedules/charts. + Ensure timeliness of the organization’s month end close process and variance analysis, while being an available resource for the staff. This role will partner with the Senior Manager Accounting to prepare all month end close material. Assist with identification, coordination and execution of opportunities for efficiency and cost savings, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan. Spots and corrects irregularities and inconsistencies in financial information. Ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. + Develop strong working relationships across the company to better understand business needs and to provide superior accounting services and support. May participate and, at times, will lead cross-functional teams within and outside of the finance department. + Provides reports and interprets the results of operation to the highest levels of management. Research special assignments and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations to upper management. Assists with the formulation of accounting policies. Responsible for the preparation of internal financial statements and operating data, coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required. + Assists in the management of all financial functions including general ledger accounting, shared services, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and various internal and outside audits. Work with the Accounting Senior Manager to create/maintain policies and procedures. + Other Miscellaneous Duties: Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance. Assist with various internal and external audits as defined by the Senior Manager. Establish and implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan. Spot and correct irregularities and inconsistencies in financial information. Ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance **Minimum Job Requirements** Education + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance Certification / License Work Experience + 6 years of related experience in business and finance in a senior financial role. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities + Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, and FASB. Multi-faceted direction and planning in a manufacturing environment. + Proven experience in finance management in international company. + Knowledge of database and general ledger accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information under tight deadlines. + Ability to work under pressure gracefully and professionally. Previous experience with SAP or equivalent ERP. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Teams. **Preferred Job Requirements** Education + Master’s Degree Certification / License + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Work Experience + Experience in mid to large manufacturing company Knowledge / Skills / Abilities + Experience in a global manufacturing environment. Experience with system conversions. + Knowledge of and exposure to sales and use taxes and foreign currency transactions. + Experience with check run, wire and ACH payment processing. Experience with Integrated computer systems. + Experienced in issue escalation related processes. **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
