Manager-Accounting and Financial Reporting

Our Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team is looking for a key contributor who will assist with various aspects of our corporate accounting and our external reporting. This position is a collaborative role interacting with CFR leadership, as well as various functions at Lilly.

Responsibilities:
 

Preparing and reviewing portions of our annual Form 10-K and quarterly Form 10-Q reports, assisting with technical accounting support, providing creative solutions, and resolving accounting issues within the business. Responsibilities include:

SEC Reporting: Prepare and review portions of the annual report and quarterly filings, as well as other financial materials that support the quarterly financial reporting cycle.

Technical Accounting: Assist in providing technical accounting research, including evaluation of proposed changes to FASB pronouncements or SEC rules, as well as implementation of new accounting standards.

Business Development Accounting: Assist in providing accounting support for our business development activities, including identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.

Special Projects: Lead or assist with other special project work as identified.


Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

CPA, Chartered Accountant, or CPA eligible

Minimum 3 years work experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

Public accounting or SEC reporting preparation experience

Solid technical accounting background with general knowledge of current US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

Strong project management and organizational skills

Strong leadership and teamwork

Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

Attention to detail

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to be innovative and creative

Strong business partnering skills with a willingness to push back and challenge when necessary

Experience with large, multi-national corporations

Passion for continuous improvement

High learning agility

Additional Information:

Position will be located in Indianapolis and may require some flexibility due to business partners being located in different time zones. Some overtime is expected based upon business needs and issues that may arise, especially during quarter and year-end closes.

Minimal travel required.
