Join Our Team as a Manager-Accounting Services!

 

Are you passionate about accounting? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to manage our accounting function. As a Manager-Accounting Services, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Manager – Accounting services  is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process and the travel and expense management functions. This role ensures that all financial obligations are met accurately and timely, supports vendor relationships, manages the T&E policies, and ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, credit memos, and payment transactions. Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies for accounts payable to ensure adherence to company guidelines.     Address and resolve vendor inquiries and disputes in a timely manner.  

 

Travel & Expense (T&E) Management:

Manage the travel and expense reimbursement process, ensuring compliance with company policies. Oversee and support maintenance and enhancements of T&E systems. Review and approve employee expense reports and travel requests.

 

Additional Accounting Responsibilities:

Lead and participate in projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual AP and T&E reports. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for the AP and T&E functions. Provide insights, analysis, and recommendations for forecast, budget and other process efficiencies and cost savings. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to AP and T&E. Support and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the AP and T&E functions. Oversee the function’s budget ensuring accuracy and appropriate allocation of resources to maximize ROI and the achievement of departmental strategies and objectives.  Approve expenditures for the achievement of operational goals, including equipment, materials, and maintenance.

 

Additional Leadership Responsibilities:

Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of AP and T&E specialists. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities. Role model appropriate and professional workplace behaviors, address/mediate conflicts to restore harmony, and support a positive, healthy and inclusive workplace culture in accordance with S&C's mission, vision, values and guiding principles. Manage departmental administrative team member processes, including but not limited to recruitment, induction, vacation management, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and workforce/succession planning. Proactively establish, monitor, and hold team members and outside resources accountable to clear responsibilities and expectations, provide ongoing performance feedback, both positive and developmental, address performance gaps in a timely manner, recognize and reward achievements, and initiate decisions for corrective actions and terminations where required. Foster a positive and productive work environment.

 

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Concur or similar). Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and AP processes. Good leadership skills, with the ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results.    Great communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from leadership to support staff, managers, and team members. Communicate complex subjects, written and oral, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Rounded interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.  Great project management skills with a willingness to take ownership of projects, work independently, and lead project teams in a collaborative environment. Sound organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete detail-oriented work efficiently and meet timelines. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze complex financial and statistical data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve difficult issues but also see the “big picture”, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.    Good change management skills with the ability to lead positive change throughout the organization. Excellent sense of financial ethics and commitment towards compliance with financial legislation. Ability to travel periodically (0-15% annually), including internationally.  Proficient in MS applications, including excellent Excel skills. 

 

Preferred:

Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement. Experience with ERP and T&E management software (Oracle, Concur).
