Responsibilities
The manager of the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Medical Transport department is responsible for determining the direction, planning, organizing, coordinating, and review of all assigned mayo Clinic Jacksonville Medical Transport vehicles. Manages staff members using assessments, appraisals, and performance management. Collaborates with and provides support to site leadership to ensure clinical competence of staff. The manager through data analysis, plans for organizational growth, staffing needs and resources. Assists in the development and management of the budget. Develops programs and processes consistent with the Mayo Clinic strategic direction. Makes decisions on a daily basis to ensure we deliver high quality, cost efficient service. Will assist to identify and resolve operational issues and opportunities which affect services. Will assist in strategic efforts regarding development of services provided by Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Medical Transport. Responds immediately to high-priority operational inquiries from internal and external customers. Provides 24/7 leadership support for team members. Receives direction from the Nurse Administrator for the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Medical Transport department. Provides leadership for and support to the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Medical Transport team. Works collaboratively with all stakeholders and is responsible to those he/she supports within the organization and external to Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an EMT, Paramedic, or Registered Nurse required Minimum of 5 years management/supervisory experience required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with course work in business, management, emergency services, health administration, or related field.
Demonstrated administrative skills. Strong interpersonal communications skills. Ambulance experience. Managerial experience. Demonstrated abilities as a coach and team leader. Ability to use a variety of IT systems, office machines and equipment. Familiarity with the practical application of ambulance rules, regulations, licensing procedures. Demonstrates ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English. Current nationally Registered and State certified as a Paramedic and/or state licensed as a Registered Nurse.
