**A Brief Overview**
Leads the Ambulatory Scheduling team ensuring daily operations are managed to achieve organizational and department service standards. Works with Specialty, Primary Care, and Ancillary leadership to optimize scheduling systems, the employee experience, and the patient experience. Oversees the competency of the team to complete core functions with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
**Essential Functions**
+ Manage daily operations and workflow of the Ambulatory Scheduling team, inclusive of the central call center, referral team, as well as department based schedulers • Manage scheduling and registration operations, workflow, work assignments and staffing • Monitor scheduling workload and performance on a daily basis • Analyze outcomes against performance expectations; address variances to ensure outcomes meet or exceed performance expectations • Compile data from month end reporting and report on performance metrics • Monitor payer requirements and adjust workflow as needed to achieve desired outcomes • Maintains a working knowledge of third-party payer requirements; adjust operations as needed to optimize outcomes • Manages the upgrades and enhancements for internal computer systems by working as liaison with IT • Works with leaders throughout the organization to optimize patient experience and sustain an efficient and effective scheduling and registration process for all assigned duties
+ Personnel Management • Selects/hires employees and trains and/or oversees the training on job related tasks. • Conducts employee performance management duties including completion and delivery of performance evaluations, setting goals, dissemination of information, coaching, addressing performance issues/routine correction actions, and recommending termination of employment. • Makes salary recommendations. • Submits notifications for personnel actions (e.g., status changes, terminations). • Makes recommendations for human resource needs. Operational/Financial Management • Responsible for the implementation and execution of business plans or activities for the department. May assist in the development of business plans. • Makes decisions guided by the business plan and resource availability that impacts service levels and the team’s ability to meet objectives. • Analyzes processes and procedures and makes recommendations and/or decisions on guidelines for daily processes/activities within department. May recommend policy changes related to the department. Implements new or revised policies, processes, and procedures within the work area. • Applies business and management expertise to identify problems/opportunities, determine solutions, and measure results. • Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety practices, policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.

**Education Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare administration or related field, relevant experience may be substituted for education Required
**Experience Qualifications**
+ Minimum 5 years’ work experience in healthcare or scheduling field Required and
+ Previous supervisory or lead experience Required
**Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of hospital scheduling and registration practices preferred.
+ Knowledge of the current healthcare climate; including HIPAA standards preferred.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to analyze processes and procedures and make the necessary recommendations for improvements to management.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
