What you need to know about the role:The Bank and Acquiring Payment Partnerships Manager will be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with banks, payment service providers, and other financial institutions to support payment processing initiatives. This position may require some travel to meet with banking partners or attend industry events.

The incumbent will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to negotiate contracts, optimize payment solutions, and ensure smooth operational support for acquiring and merchant services.
In your day-to-day role you will:
Strategic Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key banking partners, acquirers, payment processors, and financial institutions.
Act as the primary point of contact for partnership inquiries, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Identify new opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, both domestically and internationally.
Partnership Development and Negotiation:
Negotiate favorable terms with acquiring banks, payment processors, and other service providers to ensure competitive transaction fees, terms, and conditions.
Lead discussions on payment processing solutions, exploring innovative offerings and ensuring they align with business objectives.
Develop business cases and recommendations for new partnership opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Payment System Integration and Optimization:
Work with internal and external product teams to ensure smooth integration of payment systems with acquiring banks and payment processors.
Ensure that payment systems are functioning efficiently and are in compliance with all regulatory and industry standards (e.g., PCI).
Monitor payment processing performance, identify issues, and work with partners to resolve any challenges.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensure that all partnerships comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and data security standards.
Proactively identify and manage potential risks related to payment processing and partnerships.
Monitor and assess the financial stability of payment providers, acquirers, and banks.
Business Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze the performance of partnerships and payment processing services, providing regular reports to senior management.
Track transaction volumes, revenue generation, and any issues affecting payments and partnerships.
Provide recommendations for improving payment offerings and enhancing customer experiences.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with product teams, marketing, legal, and finance departments to ensure effective execution of partnership agreements and initiatives.
Provide input and feedback to product teams on new payment technologies, trends, and innovations.
Collaborate with the customer support team to resolve any issues related to payment processing.
Market Intelligence and Industry Trends:
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in the payments and banking sector.
Identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation in payment products and services.
Attend industry events, conferences, and webinars to network and stay current on developments in the payment processing industry.
What do you need to bring:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a payment-related role, such as a partnership manager, business development manager, or product manager in the banking or payments industry.
Proven experience in managing relationships with acquirers, payment processors, or banks.
Strong understanding of payment systems, acquiring models, payment gateway technologies, and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, EMV, PSD2).
Experience in fintech, payment technology, or merchant services.
Knowledge of global payment systems and cross-border payment solutions.
Familiarity with emerging payment technologies like blockchain or cryptocurrency is a plus.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess business performance and financial data.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
Experience with payment technologies (e.g., card payments, mobile payments, digital wallets).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in payments and banking.
Project management experience and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Self-motivated with a strong drive to meet business goals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
