About the Role:

This position serves as a strategic leader, driving the optimization of corporate financial systems through Workday technical side of the application. The role ensures alignment between technology solutions and business objectives, delivering streamlined workflows, data-driven insights, and operational excellence. While the day-to-day business operations are supported and running smoothly on daily basis.

The Workday Financials IT Manager will focus on managing and optimizing the performance of the assigned resource team, ensuring alignment with the team’s charter and functional role mix. Lead the technical team in developing, supporting, and maintaining assigned applications, collaborating closely with leadership, including Functional Leads, Managers, Directors, VPs, and business owners, to ensure effective department operations, address issues, and implement process improvements. You will oversee all stages of system development, from design and implementation to testing and issue resolution, including minor enhancements and upgrades. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of technical specifications, system architecture, and development work, maintaining system integrity and scalability while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Experience managing the lifecycle of financial systems, including design, development, testing, deployment, and business operational support.

What You'll Do:

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Workday Financials and related systems.

Collaborate with stakeholders to document objectives, design solutions, and ensure successful delivery.

Oversee technical specifications, system architecture, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Provide coaching and guidance to team members, ensuring skill development and performance excellence.

Ensure efficient resource allocation, budget management, and adherence to timelines for all projects.

Collaborate with business owners, ATI counterparts, and project teams to clarify objectives and define success factors for solutions aligned with company goals.

Review the design of solution architecture, artifacts, and policies to enhance predictability and efficiency in operations and solution delivery.

Leverage technical standards to design and own solutions throughout their lifecycle, ensuring optimal execution and implementation.

Conduct and oversee code and design reviews, ensuring solutions are thoroughly tested before delivery.

Provide updates, guidance, and recommendations on technology solutions and projects to staff, ATI teams, corporate services, and senior management.

Oversee application analysis, requirements/design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

Partner with technical experts to maintain alignment with current standards and provide feedback based on project experiences.

Perform resource planning to ensure skilled resources are available, trained, and aligned with project priorities.

Manage team budgets, schedules, and project milestones, implementing changes to improve methods and practices.

Lead personnel actions, including hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management.

Foster a collaborative and effective team environment, promoting inclusion, cultural awareness, and cross-functional cooperation.

Address production issues, establish and monitor SLAs, and manage operational costs while proposing architectural updates as needed.

Support new initiatives by providing evaluations and responding to feedback.

Oversee on-call production system support on a rotating schedule.

What You'll Need:

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent years of experience

8+ years of experience in corporate financial systems, with at least 5 years focused on Workday Financials, including configuration, integration, and large-scale project deployment.

5+ years of Team Leadership, Supervisory or Management experience in a fast-paced IT environment in a similar role, including direct experience working for a Global Organization and/or providing cross-cultural support.

Proven success leading enterprise-level financial systems projects such as Workday implementations, upgrades, and process optimizations.

Technical Expertise

Deep understanding of Workday Financials modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Expense Management, and Financial Reporting.

Proficiency with Workday tools: Financial Data Model (FDM), Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, and API integrations.

Knowledge of system security and compliance, including role-based permissions, SOX, IFRS, and GAAP.

Familiarity with Workday’s release cycles and ability to leverage updates to optimize system performance.

Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and advanced reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Leadership & Project Management

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, HR, and external consultants, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of financial projects.

Skilled in Agile process including project scoping, budget management, resource planning, and risk mitigation for multi-phase financial system initiatives.

Ability to manage vendor relationships and collaborate effectively with external partners and stakeholders.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

Adept at identifying inefficiencies and implementing Workday-driven automation to streamline financial workflows.

Strong analytical capabilities to extract insights from financial data for forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making.

Expertise in troubleshooting system issues related to configurations, integrations, and user adoption.

Soft Skills & Communication

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical financial concepts into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

Proven ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and build consensus around system designs and solutions.

Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Operational & Team Management

Experience managing the lifecycle of financial systems, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Ensure alignment with corporate standards and provide oversight of system architecture, compliance, and performance at scale.

Drive team growth through training, mentorship, and resource planning while promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Monitor and maintain application operations, ensuring systems meet or exceed SLAs and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with global financial operations, including multi-entity, multi-currency, and cross-jurisdictional processes.

Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation.

Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, IT operations, and modern financial technology trends.

The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

$113,000.00 - $172,000.00
