The Bank Accounting team is part of the Corporate Controller’s department and is responsible for the financial books and records of the Bank subsidiaries and Trust Companies of Charles Schwab Corporation. This includes accounting for the Bank’s loans, deposits, and investment transactions. Functions of Bank Accounting team include: closing the books for the Bank Subsidiaries and Trust Companies, account reconciliations, monthly, quarterly and annual close and analysis, as well as working on projects tied to company-wide initiatives.
**What you have**
+ 5+ years GAAP accounting or finance experience
+ Undergraduate degree in accounting
+ CPA preferred
+ Solid understanding of GAAP
+ Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
+ Strong attention to detail and supporting documentation
+ Proactive, results-oriented operating style
+ Proficiency with working with data using tools such as Google BigQuery, Microsoft SQL server, and Alteryx is a plus.
+ Ability to identify issues and seek resolutions
+ Efficient time management skills
+ Strong communication and partnering skills
+ PeopleSoft Financials experience a plus
+ Public Accounting experience a plus
+ Financial services industry experience a plus
**What you'll do:**
+ Perform accounting duties as assigned to assist the team in maintaining the accounting books and records of the Charles Schwab Bank, Premier Bank, and Charles Schwab Trust bank
+ Analyze general ledger and sub-ledger account activity
+ Prepare and record daily and monthly journal entries
+ Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare related documentation as well as perform daily balancing activities
+ Prepare quarterly reporting that is used in financial reporting and regulatory reports
+ Perform research to support business partners, auditors and/or regulator inquiries
+ Assist with special projects
+ Maintain process documentation
+ Execute internal controls to ensure a SOX compliant control environment
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.

CO Salary Range: USD $81,800 - $135,000 / Year
