Position Objective:

Under the supervision of the Director, the position of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Manager assumes management of the day-to-day operations of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department including managing staffing schedules, developing policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment, participating in the budget process and managing according to the established budget, performing annual employee reviews and employee professional development, and involvement with daily clinical activity of the department while maintaining American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Certification.

Must be able to perform all clinical and technical aspects of cardiopulmonary rehab services including exercise monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, exercise prescription, patient education, and patient assessment per guidelines of the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and established department policies and procedures.Performs as the person in charge of the rehabilitation department, leading day-to-day operations with patients and staff, following CMS provisions and regulations as well as joint commission standards.Assists the Department Director by performing operational and administrative functions ensuring regulatory, AACVPR certification and policy compliance through statistical monitoring and performance improvement.Participates in strategic program development in conjunction with the Director and program Medical Director.Supervises the department operating budget and assists the Director in preparing the department FY capital and operating budget.Interprets and enforces various Luminis Health System and department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.Develops and maintains department policies and procedures and ensures department staff is knowledgeable and comply with the policies.In accordance with the Director oversees the departmental hiring process, staff departmental orientation, LH annual competencies, annual performance reviews, performance management, and employee separations.Develops and manages staffing schedules and assignment of work ensuring a high level of quality care always occurs in an efficient and safe manner.Coordinates monthly staff meetings.Coordinates mock code and emergency preparedness training for staff.

12. Develops and implements annual departmental education and competencies.

13. Responsible for monitoring and reporting patient satisfaction within the department.

14. Responsible for proper preventative maintenance and repair to monitoring equipment and exercise equipment per hospital policy.

15. Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with Health System policy through monitoring and staff awareness activities

16. Fosters an environment of mentorship & education in accordance with the hospital's mission, vision, and values.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: 

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, or Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following allied health fields: Exercise Physiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field of study.

Master’s degree preferred and/or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification

Experience:

2 years’ experience working within a cardiac & pulmonary rehabilitation setting.

Licensure:

AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, if RN, current Maryland Licensure

Physical demands:
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
