Manager Clinical Education

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Contributes to the planning, implementation, and management of training programs to promote quality patient care and achievement of corporate goals, with adherence to policies and procedures using generational learning strategies for all specialties and modalities.

   

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Aligns with regional, group, and corporate, business-related goals through all activities and actions.

Adheres to company policy, procedures, compliance, regulatory, legal, and ethical, requirements.

Focuses all programs towards achieving clinical quality goals and improving patient outcomes, using company and industry guidelines and standards.

Serves on cross functional teams to achieve key responsibilities of the clinical organization including managing initiatives, and support of clinical care teams.

Assists in developing, managing, and implementing:

Standard education programs, processes, and systems for direct patient care personnel in the areas of clinical, quality, business practices, and customer service.

Reports on the impact of clinical education training programs and initiatives.

Support of home therapy modality growth and support structures to integrate value-based care accountability into clinical quality workflow.

A high impact learning continuum that encourages reflection, enables knowledge sharing and empowers employees to gain necessary skills and competencies.

Collaboration and communication with Senior Managers to manage consistency, improve education programs, and training outcomes.

Competency evaluation of clinic staff to ensure continuous strong performance.

Assists with managing, surveillance, and monitoring of programs in collaboration with senior manager and/or director.

Collaborates with the coordinated care team and operations to support the implementation of action plans.

Supports a strategic integrated learning plan promoting employee development in all modalities.

Supports corporate management and leadership developmental training programs as appropriate.

Supports coaching and development opportunities to new managers.

Contributes to the clinical aspects of orientation and training for new group management support personnel.

Supports the preceptor/mentor programs to ensure successful clinical training.

Maintains current knowledge about company products, services, strategies, and relevant technologies, community and regional healthcare market, and industry issues which may impact the business.

Monitors expenditures in support of department budget to meet or exceed budget goals.

Supports opportunities for learners to share experiences, network and develop impactful communities of support across the business.

Participates in peer evaluation of other education team members.

Supports the development of clinic staff competency evaluation to ensure continuous strong performance and high quality of care.

Provides leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce, partnering with Human Resources on employee matters, as applicable.

Responsible for hiring, coaching, and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations, as applicable.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, regional and facility staff and physicians.The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.This position requires between approximately 25% to 75% travel.

SUPERVISION:

Responsible for the direct supervision of staff, as applicable.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

Associates Degree in Nursing required.Bachelors of Science preferred.Nurses must be Certified Dialysis Nurse or Certified Nephrology Nurse or gain certification within 18 months.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:           

At least 3-4 years' experience as an RN in the field of nephrology. At least 1 year of management experience preferred.Experience in Educational leadership preferred. Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientated team building skills, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.Demonstrated management skills necessary to provide leadership in the education of personnel, to ensure the delivery of maximum quality care to all patients.Must complete FMS Management and Leadership training modules and ongoing training and development programs as assigned.
