Provides leadership and oversees the direction, delivery, implementation and adoption of strategic, institutional projects in clinical informatics, operations, workflow analysis and electronic health record optimization, and clinical systems analyses. Oversees clinical informatics operations and projects from conception through implementation in collaboration with physician, clinical team members, operational and administrative leaders. Develops partnerships across the system working with key stakeholders at various levels in the design of workflows that incorporate computer applications and technologies into patient care processes ensuring the needs of and efficiencies for the electronic health record end user are reflected. Aligns information technology with the clinical workflow process, safe patient care, accreditation and regulatory requirements, and set standards for clinical application usability thereby developing informatics expertise in physicians, nurses and other clinical caregivers.
This role is hybrid, will be responsible for a team responsible for covering the Greater Milwaukee ambulatory clinics.
Major Responsibilities:
Drives, manages and continually evaluates the delivery of standardized clinical workflow adoption, optimization of and transformation within the electronic health record as well as associated health information technology ensuring needs of the clinical end user are reflected. Leads and facilitates the improvement and standardization of systems, processes and procedures that provide quality, safe patient service and improve the overall patient experience. Assists in directing clinical workflow redesign to support system standardization.Manages the implementation and delivery of clinical informatics projects in collaboration with leadership across the system to identify opportunities and develop and prioritize projects. Partners with the system, clinical leadership, and various leaders/teams/departments to align objectives with Advocate Aurora's strategic goals.Oversees the evaluation of clinical systems adoption and optimization projects to ensure success and measures the project's effect on the system's overall strategies. Monitors the progress of clinical informatics projects and initiatives to accomplish strategic goals and provides recommendations to improve growth, efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety and patient satisfaction.Identifies business needs, trends and recommendations though oversight of clinical data collection, analysis and monitoring to guide business decisions. Serves as a subject matter expert on complex issues related to health care/clinical information technology and workflows. Recognizes opportunities and implements new methods for increasing efficiency such as automating clinical data collection, validation and benchmarking. Integrates computer applications into patient care processes.Administers the delivery of educational/training programs on use of clinical systems and clinical documentation to support the successful adoption and utilization into patient care process and care delivery.Ensures compliance with the administration of policies and procedures to accomplish department-specific and organizational initiatives.Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
