The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will take on advanced responsibilities in planning supervising and organizing various clinical activities for the pharmacy. Clinical Manager will report to the Pharmacy Director to provide safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective and patient-centered medication use. Areas of focus for this position will include all TMC inpatients. Responsibilites include but are not limited to communicating with physcians and other medical staff regarding new clinical initiatives. Provide support and education to pharmacy staff, residents, medical staff and physicans. Help maintain pharmacy compliance standards. Coordinates and mange pharmacy clinical staff. Develops and coordinates clinical pharmacy policies and procedures. The Clinical Pharmacy Manger will participate in P&T, Sepsis Committee, infection prevention, Medicaion Safety Comittee, and regular corporate clinical meeting as well as any other local meeting that may arise. The clinical manger will also coordiante Antibiotic Stewardship Committee. Project management, oversight and involvement will range from independent work on small projects, to leading teams on large scale market-wide changes. Many projects will involve departments external to the pharmacy department and the Clinical Manager will be required to use advanced communication and project management skills to lead quality and efficiency improvement efforts. All responsibilities are accomplished under the direction of the Pharmacy Director. Qualifications Bachelors or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. PGY1 Residency At least three (3) years of experience in a clinical pharmacy position with at least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience. Previous experience as a clinical coordinator or supervisor preferred. Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests, communicate effectively, and work independently. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Knowledge of state/federal laws and regulations. Leadership, administrative, employee relations and managerial skills. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively participate on interdisciplinary teams and committees.
