Summary
Manages and supervises the daily activities, operations, and personnel operating in the Emergency Communications Center. Assists in coordination of emergency communications or crisis communication activities, provides training, and assists in preparing plans and procedures for the communication center that might impact the operations of the health network. Oversees maintenance and management of fixed-site and mobile communications technology infrastructure including applicable FCC licensing, networking, and radio hardware infrastructure. Maintains Continuing Dispatch Education program and administration of continuous performance improvement/quality assurance programs.

Job DutiesOversees and directs supervision of emergency dispatchers. Maintains and manages radio and emergency communications technology infrastructure throughout the enterprise. Ensures adequate staffing, scheduling, and oversight of timecard and attendance record-keeping. Prepares, presents, and monitors budget; ensures division operates within appropriated budget. Assesses the department's needs to make process improvements utilizing measurement data. Determines goals, objectives, and resource requirements for activities within the division. Develops, revises, and implements standard operating policies and procedures governing the division. Establishes remote center and creates disaster contingency plans, exercises, and evaluations.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 2 years Emergency communications. and 3 years Emergency services, emergency management, emergency communications technology support, or healthcare management. Displays knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and duties of supervisors and managers; assesses the impact upon others of role performance; and supports and promotes organizational decisions, policies, programs, and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to manage performance improvement programs related to emergency dispatch quality assurance. Demonstrated ability to maintain and support radio infrastructure including knowledge of licensing requirements and routine use and maintenance of emergency communications technology including software and hardware solutions. Demonstrated creativity and analytical business skills related to creation and management of department budgets. Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor numerous complex projects concurrently. Advanced knowledge of Incident Command and the National Incident Management System. Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
