Manager - Construction

Summary:

The construction manager leads a team of construction professionals within a defined area to ensure safe, efficient, and on time/on budget execution of construction activities.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Working knowledge of gas and crude oil gathering projects. Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations. Manage the daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of assigned construction and inspection staff so projects are completed successfully and objectives are achieved. Work with Commercial, System Planning and Engineering to review construction scope. Responsible for area construction activities being compliant with the appropriate standards, procedures, policies, and regulations. Effectively manage the bid process, selection of contractors, and the use of service providers to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with the policies and procedures. Manage productive and cooperative working relationships with other departments so project requirements are met.

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum 8+ years related experience which should include a good knowledge of Industry Practices, construction standards, welding procedures, pipeline maintenance and operations. Microsoft Office and SAP Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally  Driving, walking, and standing frequently Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment Occasional overnight travel may be required
