What is the opportunity?
As a member of the Mutual Funds Branch Review Program, you will be responsible for Mutual Fund control testing. This will entail testing Key Controls for Canadian Banking, both Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance, in alignment to the Internal Control Management Standard (ICMS). You will join the Control Governance Office (CGO) team within BRMS which is part of the first line of defense in Canadian Banking.
What will you do?
You will conduct control testing, according to the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) Rule 500 Branch Review Requirements, to confirm Unit adherence to policy, in alignment with enterprise ICMS. Testing can be on-site, remote or virtual.You will need to demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain expected quality standards for control testing to achieve individual and team successYou will need to fully understand ICMS and the business control environment end-to-end, to validate control testing approach, to confirm control effectiveness and perform root cause analysis where requiredYou will consistently be alert to opportunities to make the MFR program more efficient and effective and will engage in initiatives that contribute to improvementsEmbrace a continuous learning environment, proactively seek to improve capabilities and be part of a change-ready teamEffectively communicate issues to key stakeholders to ensure awareness and clear understanding of review outcomes and action plansProvide reporting to local and regional management for Mutual Funds Reviews, and conduct root cause analysis to identify systemic issues and/or opportunities to improve process/control break downs and escalationsParticipate in key stakeholder meetings and provide insight and collaboration to identify, confirm and opine on action plans to improve control testing and testing resultsWhat do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Licensed as Branch Compliance Officer (BCO) for at least two yearsRegional Banking Sales, Service and Operations experience, including knowledge of products, processes and complianceProven ability to embrace and adapt to changeProfessional oral and written communication skillsA risk and control mindset, and proven problem solving, innovation and analytical skillsSelf-driven and technologically adept, with strong MS Excel, Word, RBC Connect and WebEx skillsAble to work from your home office which is compliant with home office standardsWilling to travel, up to 75% of the time, and flexible to travel across Canada if requiredNice to have:
