Manager Credit

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: 

Support credit and commercial teams in leadership discussions, including executive-level calls, to share insights and gather financial data for decision-making

Partner with business teams during regular reviews, leveraging analytics and financial insights to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and present strategic solutions to drive sales, growth, and retention

Serve as the escalation point for credit policy exceptions and operational challenges

Establish and monitor credit limits to minimize financial risk while supporting growth initiatives

Evaluate and improve operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness using Lean practices

Facilitate problem-solving to address root causes of inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements

Collaborate across sales, operations, and finance teams to achieve shared goals

Prepare and present financial and credit performance reports to leadership, highlighting key metrics and trends

Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and global regulations

Develop, implement, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve operational excellence

Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and automate financial and credit processes

Stay informed on global economic trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in credit management tools to improve decision-making and mitigate risk

Leadership

Coach and mentor the team using the Socratic method by asking questions to uncover the reasons behind actions, focusing on outcomes

Help the team identify upstream key performance indicators (KPIs) to take a forward-looking approach instead of being reactive

Manage and develop credit teams across regions to establish global practices and ensure consistent implementation of best practices

Define employee roles, set clear expectations, and manage performance to drive desired behaviors and outcomes

Provide real-time coaching, feedback, mentoring, development opportunities, and stretch assignments to support employee growth and problem resolution

Partner with Talent Acquisition to build a talent pipeline, recruit, select, and onboard qualified, diverse candidates

Oversee annual merit and equity programs, aligning compensation with performance outcomes

Commit to employees’ long-term personal and professional growth, taking accountability for their development and advancement

Encourage feedback through formal and informal channels, act on input to foster a culture of trust, inclusivity, and continuous improvement

Gather data and contribute to setting financial performance goals, including team revenue and expense budgets

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, operations, finance, or credit

Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and managing teams

Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

Preferred:

Demonstrated deep financial knowledge and strong written and verbal communication skills, including at the executive level

Proven experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies in a leadership role

Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or other credit-related certifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, credit rating software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

Strong ability to partner, consult, and influence diverse stakeholder groups

Proven ability to implement changes effectively

Skilled at motivating and driving change to achieve positive results in a large, dispersed organization
