Manager Digital Communications

Panera Bread is actively seeking a Digital Communications Manager to join our Digital Communications team to continue to help grow our e-mail and mobile messaging capabilities. The Digital Communications Manager will support the digital communications strategy in driving awareness, trial, frequency, profitable sales, and retention for Panera Bread business lines. This person will manage a nationwide content calendar, coordinate, project manage and oversee Panera Bread’s day-to-day email and mobile marketing activities and campaigns, working closely as a liaison between internal business partners. In this role, the Digital Communications Manager will create and deploy complex and varied email, mobile push, SMS and cross-channel campaigns with responsibilities including but not limited to briefing, creative development, configuration, testing, deployment and tracking of journey building and management (local, broadcast, segmented, transactional, triggered) on behalf of Panera Bread and its business divisions.

A successful candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in partnering with cross-functional teams. This person can form digital strategies and execute upon them while leveraging customer insights and campaign performance to strategically build future communications. The ideal candidate loves collaborating with teams, dives into details, and is a clear communicator both written and verbally.

We are looking for someone who has strong attention to detail, is adept at multi-tasking and can excel in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and is a team player. Additionally, the ideal candidate has working knowledge of email/mobile marketing and campaign management technology and related tools (Braze, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, or similar tools.)

Responsibilities:

Manage a content calendar of promotional, local, ad hoc, scheduled, triggered and dynamic content driven campaigns across Panera’s owned channelsWork cross-functionally across Field Marketing, Brand Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, and Digital Commerce to develop and integrate cross-functional marketing campaignsCreate detailed campaign briefs for internal and external teams and work closely with creative and campaign programming to develop and deploy compelling and relevant contentManage the workflow and schedule for promotional campaignsProvide email and mobile communications thought leadership to internal business partnersOptimize and implement marketing campaign performance through A/B testing, personalization, and dynamic contentContinue to evolve Panera’s owned channel capabilities, driving strategic and personalized campaignsWork with design & development team on creative development and review with legalEnsure accuracy, quality, and brand consistency across all communicationsConsolidate results and report on campaign initiativesMonitor, track, report, and make recommendations to continuously improve upon campaignsManage/support of special projects as needed including areas of process improvement, creative refresh projects, launch of other digital communications channels

What you bring:

Passion for digital communications and understanding of email and mobile best practices, trends and platformsBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or equivalentMinimum of 4+ years of digital or email marketing including deploying email and mobile campaignsExperience managing creative development and directing agencies or internal teamsComfortable with translating reporting into recommendationsExtremely process driven and results driven – this role will define and communicate clear deadlines and schedules for campaign processesProactive, self-motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and manage multiple projectsEffective time management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlinesStrong ability to create, build and leverage relationships and effectively interface with executive-level team members and at the same time have willingness to roll up the sleeves to solve problemsExcellent team player, who can take work direction from multiple individuals, learns quickly and is adaptableKnowledge of best practices in email and mobile design, delivery and customer engagement; understand CANSPAM and compliance in email and mobile opt in best practices in mobileExceptional verbal and written communication skills and analytical skillsExperience in Web / Content management a plusExperience creating journeys and campaigns in Braze a plus
