Manager Digital Content Job ID: 250003 Location: DC - L'Enfant Plaza Full/Part Time: Full-Time Posting Open-Close 01/03/2025 - 01/19/2025 Union NRP Regular/Temporary: Regular **Job Description** **Minimum Qualifications** **Education** + Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Media Marketing, Public Affairs/Public Relations, Public/Business Administration, or a related field. **Experience** + Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in social media communication, public relations, or marketing for B2B, B2C, sports and entertainment, utilities or other related fields. + Strong, demonstrated experience in social media, video production, and mobile web applications. + Impeccable, demonstrated writing and critical thinking skills. + Experience engaging customer concerns and providing information; proficient in creating and delivering clear, concise messages and creative ideas. **Minimum Certification/Licensure** + N/A **Preferred Qualifications** + A portfolio of social media content and/or campaigns demonstrating a keen understanding of current social media practices and trends on top platforms including Instagram and TikTok. + Ability to manage public communications in a crisis environment strongly preferred **Medical Group** Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. Incumbents in this role may be required to report to or continue to work in the event of authorized office closings or service suspensions due to severe weather, natural disaster, fire, operational emergencies or related events. **Summary** The Manager Digital Content is a next-generation multi-media communications professional, responsible for gatekeeping and monitoring Metro's digital platforms and planning/creating engaging content across multiple channels that tells Metro's story of reliability, safety, and regional partnership to a broad audience. The incumbent supports the department's overall digital strategy by identifying emerging digital trends that grow channel following and strengthen brand affinity. **Job Duties** + Supports the creation and accuracy of all digital content, including infographics, videos, and narrative stories that positively promote Metro's mission. Leverages a keen understanding of current social media trends including Gen Z marketing and uses fresh, innovative content strategies to promote a brand or organization. + Monitors all social media platforms and responds appropriately by coordinating appropriate responses with subject matter experts while managing deadlines. + Research and coordinate responses on topics receiving extensive, high-profile media and public attention. + Provides guidance for other communications team members and content creators to ensure alignment with Metro's brand image and overall content strategy. + Maintains an editorial calendar with 30 days of content for public communication, which involves tracking impending milestones, events, accomplishments, anniversaries, and strategic initiatives. + Supports all owned digital content needs, working with Employee Communications, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to elevate positive initiatives and observances at Metro. + Engages on social media in a platform-specific tone to raise public awareness of Metro-related news, initiatives, service exceptions, and events. Actively monitors operations using a variety of internal tools to provide real-time intelligence to assist in managing Metro's response to incidents that impact a significant number of customers. + Identifies opportunities to collaborate with external partners in the region to elevate the Metro brand. + Provides strategic guidance to internal partners to plan, launch, and evaluate timely, results oriented, special communications projects and programs requiring a strong communications element. + Leads and participates on various internal and external committees and task forces, building and maintaining effective working relations to ensure interdepartmental cooperation, coordination, and cohesion. + Tracks social media insights around defined metrics like engagement, reach, and sentiment, and develops strategies to improve monthly metrics. + Maintains and honors safety policies and procedures, ensuring all safety critical photos of roadway work are approved by the appropriate departments before public release. **Other Duties** + Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions.
