As a manager distribution operations, you will…
Leadership
Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
· Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
· Supports supervisors, leads and partners in their efforts to improve productivity, communications and morale.
· Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.
Planning and Execution
Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:
· Contributes to the development of the annual operating plan and budget, and quarterly forecast updates.
· Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
· Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
Business Requirements
Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
· Adheres to established distribution processes to maintain inventory integrity.
· Apprises management of team progress toward departmental goals. Ensures effective and timely communication of company, plant and departmental information to managers, peers and own work team, including supervisors, leads and partners.
· Ensures compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and with American Institute of Baking and Starbucks quality standards.
· Ensures workplace safety and addresses safety issues promptly and completely.
· Establishes and implements quality and cost improvement initiatives that are supported and sustained by all distribution partners. Contributes to the development of effective cost-saving initiatives.
· Maintains and improves customer service levels for all business units served. Ensures clear communications among business units and understanding of new and changing business requirements.
· Monitors and controls staffing levels, overtime, and throughput to attain annual budget improvement targets.
· Supports all established plant and departmental goals and objectives. Supports development and implementation of programs and procedures that contribute to the success of the department and the Company.
Partner Development & Team Building
Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
· Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
· Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
· Encourages partner involvement on cross-functional teams and elicits feedback. Supports team members' suggestions to improve costs, quality, efficiency and service.
· Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
· Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business and customer results.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
