Job Description

Coordinates ECMO/Advanced Technologies program operation, including planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving quality of services, overseeing day-to-day operations, and maintaining fiscal accountability.

Experience

2 years of experience as a clinical ECMO specialist in a neonatal, cardiac, and/or pediatric care setting

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degreeMaster's degree2 years of experience in management/administration in a healthcare settingExperience as an ECMO coordinator

Education

Graduation from accredited academic clinical program and Bachelor of Science in nursing or bachelor's degree

Certification Summary

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, or Georgia licensed Respiratory Care Professional and/or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employmentPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ECMO specialist

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment

Job Responsibilities

Performs ECMO/Advanced Technologies priming, emergency management, and bedside clinical care.Develops and coordinates program.Manages personnel performance evaluation process.Manages utilization of staff for effective and efficient services.Prepares and monitors operational and capital budget.Manages equipment and supplies.Integrates and promotes department/service, professional practice, and hospital goals into practice.Pursues educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise.Is responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.Mentors team members to encourage personal and professional growth.Encourages ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
