Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a leader to manage its growing radio frequency (RF) microwave and mixed signal electrical subsystem and hardware design engineering team. These groups are responsible for architecting, designing, verifying, and supporting existing and future RF microwave and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems across a variety of platforms.

Group skill sets include trading requirements, package and device trade studies and specification, frequency planning, RF budgeting and chain analysis, board and assembly design, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and analysis, design verification, subsystem integration and test, and production support.

We are seeking a leader for the position of Manager Electronics 2 in Airborne Multi-Function Sensors division, within the Advanced Mission Capabilities Restricted Engineering Business Unit.  This functional management position reports to the section manager and is responsible for managing a team of RF microwave engineers. The role is also responsible to serve as the focal point with one or more of the hardware engineering staffing ribbons.

This position is located in Baltimore, MD.  This position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead an engineering functional group of 10 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planningProvide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the groupEnsure application of design processes and guidelines used in the groupDevelop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customersCollaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groupsSupport department initiatives, recruiting, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering or Technical degreeMinimum 8 years of related engineering experience including responsibility as an integrated product team or technical leadExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBasic understanding of RF electronicsMust be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environmentDemonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leaderRF and mixed signal product design, fabrication, and integration experience including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applicationsActive TS/SCI clearance or secret with reinvestigation within past five years

* This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)

Salary Range: $149,400.00 - $224,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
