JOB PURPOSE:
Manages CTL Performance Production Support team providing engineering support to manufacturing for production dyno and genset testing of Gas and Diesel engines.
JOB DUTIES:
Managing staffing, development, and performance management for engineering team; motivating and developing team members.Providing engineering technical support to production hot test at CTL and other facilities.Development and implementation of strategic test cell process improvements enabling engine hot test efficiency.Gas and diesel engine performance troubleshooting for both dyno and genset test on and off shift Implementation of testing process improvements, including cell, harness, and test softwareAnalysis of production test cell results including trend test history analysis with proactive problem identification and resolutionCoordinate and perform special testing requests, in process or new product validation lug curvesCreation and maintenance of price list settings and test specificationsProcessing of engine orders for setting requestsPublishing engine performance data to support NPI programsKey skills and Knowledge requirements:
Understanding of Caterpillar engine product configuration and manufacturing processesAn advanced understanding of large gas and/or diesel engine operationTroubleshooting skills of engine and test cell instrumentationUnderstanding of dyno and generator test cell operationA strong electrical and mechanical background with assembly experience in gas or diesel enginesAdept at working with computers and computer systems. Software programs used frequently include, but not limited to:Power BI, Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, SAP, EngPerf, TMI, Common Test, AQE, PWRB, SIS, CANapeStrong data analysis and mathematical skillsA strong personal initiativeProject leadership and people managementThe proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of peopleGood organization and time management skillsGood verbal and written English language skillsRequired Qualifications:
Engineering degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.Posting Dates:
