Job Description:
This incumbent as NVH Validation Manager will be responsible to provide managerial and technical direction to a staff of management personnel including technical specialist(s) and engineers engaged in product and design, development and validation of prime products, subsystems, components or process which accomplish product maintenance and new product introduction objectives.
The incumbent must be a visionary leader with ability to understand, translate and communicate our customers’ long-term requirements and deliver these requirements often through diverse cross-functional teams. The position will focus on leading global collaboration activities, aligning component, system and machine product lines.
This position faces ongoing change – increased competitive pressures, increasing product complexity and ever increasing customer demands. Significant challenges from managing new technology, managing the specialists in the organization, sourcing technical people, replacing expertise and growing technical experts can be expected.
Job Duties
• Set up technology and long term strategy for Noise, Vibration and Harshness in Asia Pacific, recruit and develop team members to meet the short term and long term goals.
• Lead a team to develop test processes leverage certain software and instruments to deliver on sound testing and solutions, noise control and structural testing/analysis.
• Tracking and monitoring our commitments to clients first level project plans, owning processes, guiding the definition of work processes, facilitating the acquisition of tools, physical resources, and intellectual capital, building teams, conducting technical review and managing budget and capital spending.
• Lead on the technology trend for machine sound testing, noise and vibration control, and new technology development such as automation and autonomy, electrification, hydrogen fuel cell, and other alternative energy solutions.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or other accredited engineering curriculum.
• Strong technical and analytical skills and ability to deliver results, good knowledge of NVH and Caterpillar NPI/NTI and CPI processes.
• 10+ years of experience on machine product design, development and validation, including components and systems, virtual product development, machine validation or other engineering areas.
