The position:
Manager of Engineering Data management is the member of Global EDM team which is responsible for analysis, execution and implementation of Engineering Change requests within Operation Strategy deployment team supporting the Operations department in the Eindhoven facility.

In this role you will develop team members and lead projects, actively search for internal process continuous improvement opportunities, be aligned with Global team and secure its alignment within Eindhoven Operation Team.

What will you do:
Lead team within the Engineering Data Management group, which may include a team of engineers, designers and drafters. Focus on professional development by goal setting and providing challenges for further growth, focusing on career planning (successors, critical skills management, leadership skills development)
Ensures and encourages close collaboration with the other Thermo Fisher sites for efficient cross-site alignment
Secure alignment in company goals, and focus on open and straightforward communication loop
Manage departmental budget and resources (headcount and its flexibility, space)
Stays close to Operation to understand key processes, and be ready to step up and support
Ensures proper staffing of team to provide adequate levels of technical expertise for documentation screening and archiving, conducting engineering changes, and driving design change requests.
Supports local and global Operations team in its strategy and deliverables
Lead improvement projects towards operational excellence and quality, optimizing EDM related processes and linkage to other departments.
Supports and coordinates approval for outsourcing (part of the) Engineering Data Management services.
Creates and completes Eindhoven EDM department budget in line with ThermoFisher directions.
May actively participate in the operational activities of your selected team (e.g. CL/CO role)
Develops and cultivates close relationships with OCM, R&D, PLM, GTS, Logistics, Procurement, Sustaining Products, Manufacturing, Quality, and Application managers to adequately staff projects and resolve conflicts.
Initiate and drives Global multi-functional improvement, Innovations and other Operations projects from inception to completion.
Ensure that ECO process WIP, cycle time and other targets are being met for their respective product line. Monitor, control and deploy performance metrics accordingly.
Ensures that activities are carried out according to the principle of “Customer focus in all that we do”

The successful candidate should possess the following:
Requires management experience (people and/or projects) in a manufacturing, technical support or service management role in the industry environment
Ability to lead and develop technical teams
Excellent interpersonal skills and proficient English and Dutch language
Good communication skills and desire for further development
Must have the ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required (up to 25% of working time).
