Covia is looking for a dynamic Financial Planning & Analysis Leader who will have a positive impact on the Finance team at its Huntersville, NC or Independence, OH location. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will report directly to the VP, of Financial Planning & Analysis and support the Executive Vice President and team for the US/CA Business Unit, the CFO and the overall business.  This will include preparing detailed profitability analysis (revenue, gross margin, expenses, EBITDA) for the business, as well as assisting in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, analyzing business trends, and preparing analysis to evaluate business opportunities.  The position will also support the budget, forecast, strategic planning process and may include assisting in the evaluation of potential acquisitions and expansions.

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

Develop, communicate, and implement the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning process for the US/CA Business Unit of Covia. Prepare monthly, analysis of operating performance, including analysis of sales (volume and pricing), gross margins (by product and market) and EBITDA for the company’s businesses. Participate and assist in the monthly close process, including the explanation of variances to plan, forecast and prior year performance. Prepare analysis and reports for inclusion in monthly financial package. In collaboration with the leadership team for the Industrial segment; lead the annual budget process for the business, including submission of volume and pricing assumptions and preparation of costs including SG&A cost budgets. Lead the forecast updates, including volume, pricing and costs including SG&A projections and reconcile to actual, budget and previous forecast as needed. Assist in the evaluation of strategic alternatives, including new market/product expansion and acquisitions for the Industrial segment. Assist in preparation of key financial data points in support of external earnings calls and Board of Managers presentations.

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required; Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum 7+ years of relevant financial analysis experience required. Demonstrated ability to serve as liaison between Corporate Business Partners and resource for the internal customers (Executive Leadership Team). Ability to lead projects across the organization, communicate effectively, resulting in successful outcomes for internal and external customers. Ability to lead and effectively develop direct reports to next. Must be able to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Strong accounting and finance skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills along with great organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with strong attention to detail. Experience preparing a variety of financial analysis, including operating and investment analysis. Strong logic and critical thinking skills both technical and financial a must. Ability to travel as necessary.
