Manager Fuel Accounting

**Starting at $78,000/year + DOE and bonus opportunities**

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fuel Accounting Manager to oversee our fuel accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of fuel-related financial transactions. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, team members, and other departments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Department Staffing & Development: Lead the recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management of the fuel accounting team. Coach and develop employees to achieve department objectives and maintain high performance. Employee Support: Assist team members in resolving Fuel A/P application issues to ensure smooth operations and minimize disruptions. Fuel Billing & Payments: Oversee and ensure accurate billing of fuel charges to customers and timely payments to fuel vendors, maintaining efficient and effective cash flow processes. Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong working relationships with fuel vendors to support seamless transactions and effective communication. Documentation & Confidentiality: Ensure accurate maintenance of records and documents, following a strict policy of confidentiality to protect sensitive information. Tax Compliance: Understand fuel tax regulations to ensure set up in accounting system is accruing correctly. Work with tax department when issues arise. Inventory & General Ledger Reconciliation: Reconcile store fuel inventory (book to actual) and manage the reconciliation of all fuel-related General Ledger accounts to uphold financial accuracy.

Qualifications: Education

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business required. 

Qualification: Experience

Proven experience in accounting or fuel management. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge of fuel-related tax regulations and compliance is a plus.

Proficient in MS Office, including strong Excel skills and experience with accounts payable software systems Strong work ethic and high level of integrity Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Display strong initiative and organizational ability Ability to identify process efficiency issues and assist in the development and implementation of technology driven process improvements Ability to retain a high level of confidentiality Knowledge of accounts payable functions, with experience with multiple systems highly valuable Experience with PDI or DTN systems is a plus
