Work in collaboration with all Office of Medical Education (OME) departments and residency programs to provide leadership and direction in the management of accreditation related activities to meet and exceed all graduate medical education requirements. Manage and provide leadership to the OME team members by planning, organizing, monitoring, administering, coaching, modeling, evaluating, and educating. Ensure OME team members receive the appropriate training and education needed to provide quality outcomes and compliance with OME governing regulations. Ensure OME team members provide quality support to their assigned departments, residency programs and the organization. Ensure OME team members positively affect the overall morale of the OME departments and the organization.
Essential FunctionsGraduate Medical Education:Serve as principal backup to the Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and acts on his/her behalf in the event of their absenceParticipate in executive leadership discussion and decisionsAssist with documentation for sponsoring institution and residency program review and compliance with accrediting agenciesParticipate as a member of OME committees as assignedAssist with program and institutional Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) data collection and survey compliancePeople Management:Develop a participative management style that enables team members' participation and accountabilityProvide quality evaluation and timely feedback for all assigned staff and provide annual performance reviewsAddress team members issues in a timely, effective and appropriate manner utilizing appropriate OME management to source solutionsEnsure appropriate professional development for all assigned team membersMaintain open and productive communications with all team members, managers, Program Directors, and OME leadershipMaintain a professional and communicative demeanor at all timesRecognize outstanding performanceResponsible to lead and inspire for positive quality departmental and organizational outcomesDepartment Accountability:Ensure departments and residency programs function in a fiscally responsible mannerUnderstand the budgeting process utilized for the residency programs and associated financial resultsUnderstand the financial impact of assigned team members to the entire organization’s financial planning and resultsCompliance:Create policies, procedures and standard processes associated with GMEEnsure compliance with GME accrediting and regulatory agencies' requirements including but not limited to the ACGME, National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)Ensure compliance with Federal accrediting and regulatory agencies' rules including but not limited to the Joint Commission (TJC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)Ensure OME team members and residents are in compliance with the organization's policies, procedures and Federal andState laws governing employment and employeesProfessional development:Participate in on-going development of management skills and expertiseParticipate in on-going GME education programs associated with administering residency programs and sponsoring institutionQualificationsRequired
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, health care administration or related field5 years of relevant experience in health care administration, business, or related fieldPreferred
