POSITION PROFILE

The Value Proposition Writer is responsible for crafting compelling value propositions and messages that resonate with target audiences, ultimately driving interest and engagement with our company's products or services. This individual will craft concise, compelling executive summaries for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that encapsulate the essence of the company's offering and align with the needs and interests of the Strategic and Enterprise clients. The Value Proposition Writer will work closely with product/service and portfolio managers to develop content around new offerings, aligned with Ricoh's Customer Engagement Model. They will customize marketing materials focusing on unique values that each offering delivers to each client and publish them within the Content Library.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and Analysis:

Dive deep into product features, benefits, and differentiators. Conduct market research to understand competitors, market trends, and customer preferences. Gather insights from sales, product marketing, customer service, and other internal teams.

Collaboration:

Work closely with product managers, sales teams, and other marketing professionals to ensure consistent messaging across channels. Facilitate meetings to strategize proposal approach, gather content, and review drafts. Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide feedback on other team members' work. Continuously update knowledge of industry trends, innovations, and competitor offerings.

Develop Value Propositions:

Analyze and understand client needs, project requirements, or bid details. Create clear, compelling value propositions for various products, services, and target segments. Ensure that the value proposition communicates the unique benefits and differentiators of our offerings.

Executive Summary Development:

Write executive summaries that highlight the company's strengths, capabilities, and alignment with client objectives. Ensure that the summary is compelling, concise, and tailored to each unique RFP.

Collaboration with Proposal Team:

Work closely with proposal managers, technical experts, graphic designers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive response. Ensure all content is free of errors and inconsistencies. Gather and integrate feedback to refine the executive summary.

Contribute to Proposal Library:

Help maintain and update a library of executive summary templates, boilerplate content, and other reusable materials.

Content Creation:

Write copy for various marketing materials, including web pages, brochures, ads, and presentations, ensuring the value proposition is clearly conveyed and customized based on the individual customer needs and goals. Collaborate with the design team to ensure visuals and copy align and support each other.

Continuous Improvement:

Gather feedback on submitted proposals, whether won or lost. Analyze proposal successes and areas of improvement, recommending changes to the proposal process or content as necessary. Propose A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different value propositions. Use feedback and metrics to refine and optimize messaging.

Stay Updated:

 Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, company offerings, and competitive landscape.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or related field.  Proven experience in value proposition development, copywriting, or similar roles. Strong analytical and research skills.  Ability to distill complex ideas into clear, concise, and compelling messages. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Familiarity with proposal software tools or design software is a plus. 5+ years' experience in crafting BPO (Business Process Optimization) and SaaS proposals.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standard office requirements.  Work assignments are highly diversified. New alternatives are regularly developed. There is often no precedent established for problems encountered. Work has some occasional stress due to periodical or cyclical workload pressures.
