The Manager of Corporate Events is responsible for successfully planning, executing, and evaluating a wide range of events, from leadership summits, sales kickoffs, executive retreats, sales incentives, fundraising events, client entertainment, and cultural events that celebrate our people. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
This hybrid position is based in our Fort Lauderdale office and will lead a team across multiple office locations, including Florida, Utah, and North Carolina. This position will report to the Director of Events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management:
Plan and execute events in company offices, hotels, convention centers, and unique venues.
Develop and execute event strategies aligned with organizational goals
Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including setup, tear-down, and on-site management
Collaborate with stakeholders to scope event needs and respond to event requests
Collaborate with internal teams including onsite facilities, creative, communications, travel, and legal
Create detailed event budgets, timelines, and workback plans keeping team on target
Negotiate and motivate vendors to perform their best work. Engage with vendors and industry partners in a way that represents CHG’s core values.
Understand events industry legal terms and manage contract negotiations
Address any unforeseen challenges or issues that may arise during events.
Conduct thorough post-event debriefs, data analysis, and deliver post-event reports
Team Management and Development:
Develop and drive process adoption, including project management, budget skills, and SOPs
Lead, mentor, and keep a high-performing team engaged and focused on company priorities
Offer growth and development opportunities for team members
Work autonomously with little leadership oversight, while understanding when to engage senior leadership in decisions
Manage stakeholder expectations across multiple business units
Participate in leadership development and own self-development
Manage team budget and monthly forecast
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in event planning and management, with a proven track record of success.
3+ years as a people leader
Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Proficiency in Cvent including registration creation, reporting, and portals
Proficiency in project management and creating workback schedules, preferably in Smartsheet or Asana
Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges.
Passion for creating memorable and impactful events.
Ability to work nights and weekends as events require
Ability to work long hours during onsite execution
Expected travel up to 15%, including program execution, leadership training, and visiting other CHG offices
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $72,600 -- $176,000 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
