Pinterest is looking for a Manager II, Performance Solutions. This role is responsible for managing and inspiring the Canadian Performance Solutions team focused on enabling advertisers to drive performance/outcome based success on the Pinterest platform, through the adoption of priority products and the development of new / innovative best practices. The right candidate will be an experienced leader who loves to coach and develop individuals, aligning to their strengths, and who will be energetic, and passionate with a strategic voice. In addition, this candidate must be able to operate at a player/coach level, where the expectation is also for this individual to be hands-on and have their own engagements with sellers on key accounts. The Manager II, Performance Solutions will closely partner with cross-functional leadership in product, engineering, and sales. This is a multi-faceted, fast-paced job in a start-up environment so flexibility, a data-driven mindset, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humor are a must.

The Performance Solutions team sits within the Global Client Solutions (GCS) organization. Performance Solutions delivers through strategic guidance, operational excellence and technical expertise to improve the effectiveness of advertising campaigns resulting in increased client ROI. We work to understand, innovate, and scale cross-functional workflows. We are responsible for measuring process impact, making our business more efficient with consistent execution while embarking on building the next generation of data-driven best practices.

 

What you will do:

Manage and inspire a team of highly experienced and driven individual contributers, delivering results through your team via career, skill and personal development. Be able to take on a player/coach role to manage your own engagements with sellers on key accounts to help drive outcome based performance. This includes being hands on to suggest new campaign optimizations and account strategy, in addition to running audits on tag, feed and API to assess account health.  Take a data-driven approach to help understand and influence the advertiser experience, the business impact of our teams, and future areas of opportunity for your team.  Advance the strategy and execution of the Performance Solutions team, partnering with Sales, Product and Engineering to ensure that we continuously improve our products. Manage and communicate processes and metrics to enable highly transparent, credible and impactful functions. Plan, implement and optimize scaled support models including utilizing outsourced workforces and automated systems.

 

What we are looking for:

9+ years of relevant work experience within digital marketing, ad tech and operations. 3-6 years of leadership and people management experience. 3+ years of experience of planning and executing outcome based advertising campaigns with client facing engagements, preferably in the social advertising space. A structured and detail-oriented thinker. You’re as comfortable solving conceptual problems and creating frameworks to refine a team’s thinking as you are getting into the weeds to understand how things work. Strong communication skills. You can move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and lead presentations with senior executives. Solid technical foundation with relevant experience in Search/Shopping/Display/Social advertising technologies, and related products like API for Conversions, Tag, Campaign Management + Optimization, etc. Adept at modeling business cases for resource planning and feature improvements. Entrepreneurial self-starter. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and are independently capable of seeking information, corralling resources, and delivering results without waiting for direction. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such, or equivalent experience.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
