PURPOSE:
The Supplier Services Inventory Lifecycle Manager is responsible for identifying the most efficient buying practices and strategies for suppliers, working collaboratively with procurement and operations on implementing change to drive efficiencies within UNFI’s distribution network. This position will develop clear solutions and best practices,
provide education, and ensure there are appropriate engagement and negotiation tactics and protocols in place with suppliers. This position will act as the primary liaison between the Supplier Relationship Management team and critical departments regarding supplier’s inventory lifecycle – procurement, logistics, and deductions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage/Implement Period End Buy Program for Suppliers – identify targets, develop/implement recommendations, establish/report metrics
• Manage/Implement Vendor Logistics team – identify targets, develop/implement recommendations, establish/report metrics
• Collaborate/support and participate in Supplier Meetings with Supplier Relationship Managers
• Manage team of direct reports – 1:1’s, project management, performance reviews 10%
• Distribution Center Capacity Review – participate/manage DC Capacity projects for Supplier Relationship Management team
• Support Service Level Reporting/Metrics – Top 100 OOS, Recap/Root Cause, Weekly meetings
• Support Supplier Compliance on Late & Unappointed and Missed Appointments
• Performs other relevant job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

Experience:
• 5-7 years of Supplier Chain experience with a thorough understanding of end-to-end operations
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
• Understanding of market penetration strategies, market development techniques, and market segmentation strategies with a focus on trends and consumer behavior tactics
• Strong negotiation skills
• Thorough understanding of supplier chain lifecycle, particularly procurement, distribution, and operations
• Strong understanding of the supplier landscape – natural, organic, specialty, and conventional
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, manufacturing costs, and product price components
• Excellent leadership skills – ability to manage cross-functionally as well as across a variety of positions/titles
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Critical thinking, solution and action oriented – ability manage projects through from inception to completion

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Solid analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Computer literate and ability to use all related hardware and software
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
• Some travel may be required
• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle,
or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal
workday
• Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
