Investigational Drug Services Manager Position Summary 

As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Manager of Interventional Drug Services (IDS) is responsible for planning, monitoring, and directly supervising pharmacy personnel in the safe and effective use of investigational drugs and protocols approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Duties and responsibilities include: coordinating investigational drug services, drug distribution, and clinical services according to established departmental policies and procedures; maintaining regulatory compliance; and conducting staff, patient, and caregiver education. Other administrative functions include: ensuring adequate staffing, training new employees, and participation in inter- and intradepartmental committees.

Investigational Drug Services Manager Position Requirements  

Bachelor's of Science or Doctorate in Pharmacy from a fully accredited college of pharmacy. Licensure, or eligible, as a registered pharmacist in the State of Maryland Experience in clinical trials/medical research comparable to overseeing the administrative and scientific implementation of research protocol(s) for complex and/or multiple research studies required. Experience in clinical research at an academic, government, or pharmaceutical industry environment preferred. Experience in the following areas is preferred: regulatory affairs, clinical trials, project management, and team building. At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience with preference given to previous research experience.

Investigational Drug Services Manager Work Schedule

Exempt position. Works primarily Monday to Friday, dayshift.
